Chapter 35. Goddamn death knight.

Anise sets Xania down onto the bed, looking at the damaged scythe in her hand.

“My lord, it's truly amazing you damaged your scythe.”

Anise sits down beside Xania, looking at her while poking her, trying to see if she could wake Xania up.

“Welp, I didn't expect much anyways.”

“Annoying as hell zombie guy. He did this to you, once I get strong enough I'll make sure to send a good spell at that stupid death knight.”

Anise lifts up Xanias shirt slightly, exposing part of her stomach.

As she does so, she uses magic to remove an invisibility spell, hiding a small thing string around Xania's waist.

“Glad I did this, this string can record voices too. Though I think I'll give it to you when you wake up instead of listening to it since it isn't much of my business.”

Anise pulls Xania's shirt back down, interlocking her fingers with Xania's on the hand she used her divinity magic before as she tries to experiment with the little amount left.

“Wow, this is actually pretty fun.”

“My lord, you don't mind right? Silence means consent.”

Anise stares at Xania for a moment before smiling.

“Nice, I guess you consent since you aren't saying anything. You'll just slowly regenerate it back anyways unlike mana which you collect from the surroundings.”

Anise makes a small shield around Xania to prevent Davien from going in without alerting her as she teleports away to a secret laboratory she made long ago.

  “This is gonna be fun.”

Anise starts experimenting with the little amount of leftover divinity she took from Xania's palm.

She tries all sorts of things such as using neutral mana on it, which converts the mana to divinity at a terrible rate. Placing the divinity into a small jar without any physical contact to living beings, causing it to remain relatively stable unless moved, which destroyed the jar immediately, nearly hurting Anise if not for the face she used a shield to trap it in before controlling it again. With the last thing she had time for trying to be to try to infuse it into her own body which worked, increasing her mana by a decent amount albeit only being able to absorb a very small amount.

As she feels Xania touching her shield due to her immense mana, she places the divinity back into a jar without touching it, teleporting back to Xania.

  “My lord, are you awake?”

Anise looks around as she finds Xania no longer on her bed, followed by a massive explosion of mana in the distance.

“My lord… you just woke up, why are you creating trouble already?”

Anise teleports to the source of the mana, slightly outside the demon kingdom, finding Xania there, destroying the surroundings, causing smoke everywhere.

“My lord, let's get you bac—”

Anise gets interrupted by a lethal attack towards her which she barely dodged.

  “... My lord?”

As the smoke clears up, Anise gets a view of Xania who is suddenly slightly taller though still shorter than Anise, her hair blue and black instead of completely black.

“My lord, I don't know what you did with your hair or height but you look sexy like th—”

Anise barely dodge another attack filled with dark mana again.

“You're serious about this? What the hell did I do?”

Anise keeps dodging attacks from Xania.

“My lord, I'm a lot more experienced at fighting than you, I don't care how talented you are, you haven't done much actual fighting yet.”

Anise keeps dodging Xania's attacks with ease before noticing her eyes turning partially a glowing red colour. The glowing caused by mana but the eye colour natural.

  “What the f—”

Xania starts shooting faster, her accuracy increasing with every shot, causing Anise’s cheeks to get partially scraped as she retreats.

“This isn't fair… what is wrong with you my lord?”

Anise looks at Xania, clearly to find any anomaly before noticing the key around her neck shining partially too.”

  “Goddamn death knight!”

Anise starts trying to teleport to Davien, using detection magic to locate him at the same time as Xania keeps interrupting her spells with ease.

  “Dammit!”

Anise starts flying away immediately, Xania chasing after immediately.

“How the hell are your wings so strong too?! This isn't fair! I demand some equality!”

Xania starts preparing a massive attack of dark mana, causing Anise to start flying faster, any shield she tries to make getting destroyed by smaller weaker attacks.

“I'll take it back! I don't need free will! Just take me as a slave!”

Xania keeps firing more shots at Anise.

“My lord, you don't usually have this good of an aim, nor do you usually converse your mana so well. Proud of you.”

She eventually reaches her laboratory, taking her divinity as she tries to throw it at Xania before Davien appears, stopping her.

“What the hell are you here for?!”

  “To fix her.”

Davien walks past Anise, pinching her waist, confusing and annoying Anise.

  “What was that for?”

  “To take it.”

Anise looks down, finding the string she temporarily placed around her own waist gone.

  “...”

“Honestly, this wasn't intended. It was an accident.”

“I don't care, just fix it.”

Davien uses his invisible attack, cutting off the key easily from Xania without hurting her, causing her to turn back, fainting again.

  “... what just happened?”

  “Sleep walking.”

  “What?”

“A severe sleepwalking, just wait for her to wake up.”

  “...”

  Xania’s pov.

Xania opens her eyes, finding herself in a completely black environment, extremely similar to but not exactly like the abyss either.

“My lord, are you really gonna do this?” A random voice from seemingly everywhere and nowhere asks.

Xania tries talking, opening her mouth to find absolutely no voice coming out despite not hard she tries along with being unable to use mana.

Two figures appear, their faces and appearances mostly blurred with Xania only being able to make out the fact that they are demons. The surroundings turn into a slightly damaged bedroom, oddly similar to Xanias room.

“Of course, I already told you.” Another voice answers the previous voice.

“My lord, there's a high chance of this failing! Didn't we agree on that?”

“Indeed but if we don't do this, we'll regret it eventually. Besides, he already did it.”

“Yea but we have no clue how he did so or if he even succeeded.”

“-------, times are changing. The greatest kingdom known to humankind has fallen, many others hostile to us are eyeing for my position or just our kingdom in general, the realm is on the verge of destruction, most intelligent species are now a thing of the past or have lost all intelligence.”

“But is this really the only thing we can do?”

  “Regretfully.”

  “Fine.”

  “Glad to see you understa—”

“But I'm following you my lord!”

“No, I did not prepare anything for you.”

“It doesn't matter! My memory will still return before yours since I'm weaker!”

“You know that's not what I'm referring to. You may never get this strong again.”

  “I don't care!”

“If that's what you want. Fine.”

“Thank you for trusting in me, my lord! Even if I can't get as strong again, I can still make fun of your height.”

  “...”

Xania suddenly wakes up again, finding Anise and Davien kneeling down in front of her with Anise poking her.

  “My lord, are you awake?”

  “...”

Xania blinks for a moment before turning to Anise who is still poking her

  “My lord, are you there?”

“... Could someone fill me in?”
