Rosha rolls her eyes, "Anyway, my gear took a bit more work. You'll notice it isn't quite as color consistent. That sort of wasn't avoidable.
"You generally don't see hair like mine in the wild and so to find matching colors requires a little more work. Silver actually would be a decent enough match, you know, except for how dumb and obvious it would be. Though without that I'm basically limited to pastels.
"Who knew that being a white and pink bunny would have a downside? Still, we managed to find a few monsters on our journey, just not collections of them."
Courtney nods, "We mostly went for purple and cream colors. This was harder not just because purple isn't the most common color, but because they tend to be more my sort of critters. In the end though, we managed to find a decent selection of ranged monsters in those colors."
Rosha, "At that point I wasn't leaving it up to 'chance' that we would find the right crafter. Instead we just hit up a major trade town and commissioned a family crafter to make something of it for us."
Jason, "Wouldn't it have just been better to buy matching gear? The System does have minor size adjustment for equipment and I'm sure with how much we had, you could have gotten some good gear."
Rosha busts out laughing while Courtney explains that, "No, no we wouldn't have. Remember, the System is at least partially set up to reward effort.
"Gear made from monsters you killed with money you provide will tend to end up more cohesive. It isn't like the gear will suddenly be better, but the effects mesh better. Also, check this." And they both hold up their right arm, upon which is a matched bracelets.
Jason, "Oh cool, accessories! I haven't found any yet."
Courtney shakes her head, "And you likely won't with that kind of attitude. Post 100, sure, you'll find accessories to buy. Right now, though? You basically need to get hunting trophies and have them turned into accessories."
Rosha sighs, "We got lucky with these bracelets. You can't just pull a tooth off a starved wolf you killed, hang it on a string, and call it a necklace. There is this whole mystical nonsense to it."
Courtney, "These bracelets came from a pair of level 30 scorpions. They're made from a segment of their shell near the stinger and provide us some level of poison immunity. Well, not immunity?"
Rosha nods, "Yeah, it is more like they delay the poison from taking effect. You'll still know it is there and feel a slight tingle wherever it will end up hurting later. Also, a big enough dose will get through this, but for lower quality poisons you would have basically replaced our blood with the poison at that point."

Courtney, "Also, they aren't exact copies. While they look the same, they do slightly different things. The only reason they match so much is because of how similar the two scorpions were and that we got the same crafter to make both of them simultaneously."
Rosha laughed, "That armadillokin sure complained at first!"
Courtney shrugs, "Well, of course they did. We were asking them to create two accessories at the same time instead of one after another. Making one is already enough of a challenge. Remember, we had already had two other crafters fail at similar things earlier in the trip."
Rosha, "Whatever. It isn't like we cared if they failed or not. Though it was funny to see the kin so excited when completing our request leveled three of their crafting skills."
Jason sighs, "Well, it would have been good to know all this earlier. I could probably even get an accessory made from some of my berries if I dried and prepared them right."
Courtney, "Most likely that would result in an accessory that would help with your farming. If instead you used some rare plant that you went out exploring for, then it would be an accessory useful for fighting."
Jason shrugs, "Do you need a specific skill to craft accessories or can you wing it? I'm trying to not be insensitive, but some cultures would have spiritually important stuff they've gathered."
Rosha, "Well if you refer back to what I said about not being able to just pull a wolf's tooth and hang it on a string."
Courtney stops her, "He isn't wrong. Since long ago people have placed importance on certain naturally occurring objects and NeoRealm isn't any different. One both our worlds have in common is the adder stone.
"A stone with a natural hole in it is said to have all kinds of properties. Sometimes also called a hags stone since one of the supposed properties is that you will be able to see through a hags illusion if you look through the hole.
"That works for the fae as well. Which would make some sense as in some myths, hags are a type of dark fae. Anyway, if you find one of those on your own you probably could develop it into an accessory. Though with that, the various myths are so numerous you would be just as likely to get a lucky charm, protection against lightning, or something that prevents nosebleeds."
Rosha shrugs, "Well, yeah, but there is a skill for accessory crafting. There is even one for judging the material being used! A completely separate skill just to judge the material."
Courtney raises an eyebrow, "That isn't exactly rare. Did you think carpentry gave the crafter the ability to judge a tree?"
Rosha, "No, but I figure it would include the ability to judge a prepared plank of wood. Though honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it did let them judge how good a tree would be if used for crafting."
Courtney coughs, "Well, maybe that wasn't the best example. Though more properly, those tend to be sub-skills. Anyway, in this case the skill is well and properly a separate skill as it requires a bunch of side abilities to really work.
"After all, how can you judge if a rock with a hole in it is natural and whether it will provide luck or not if you can't at least detect such things? The skill to judge accessory material is one of the more hodgepodge type of skills. Sub-skills and variants galore."
