Steven, recalling his past, was taken back to the moments he cherished the most, moments he shared with Susan, as the two of them grew extremely close as siblings after the incident in the river. They did almost everything together, from playing to joking around, having fun with one another, Susan even helped Steven practice controlling his power, turning it into game where every time he accidently set something on fire she would put it and gain a point, and although Steven didn’t like the fact that she was the only one who got points while playing the game, upon seeing the cute and playful smile she wore on his face had no choice but to go along with it. Whenever their parents went away on a mission with the Golden Dragon Guard, they didn’t feel quite as lonely or sad, they still didn’t like seeing them leave each day only for them to come back late at ether the fall of the evening or at the den of night, sometimes they wouldn’t come back for days on end, during those days Steven and Susan would spend the entire day play and then at night ride on their dragons through the starry skies. Sharing those moments with her were beyond magical and peaceful, recalling how she would try control the water on the clouds to form funny shapes, those memories always brought a smile on his face but the ones he cherished the most were the ones he spent with her and him mounted of their dragon high up in the night sky, their gazes casted forth in to the vast starry horizon with the moon peaking above it all.
“What do you think is out there Steven?” the innocent voice of Susan asked as she gazed out in the starry horizon.
“Who knows, monster, terrors, dark dragon warrior”, those were the only that came to Steven’s mind.
“You’re making it sound like all the world is filled with is bad. Why don’t you think of something good, like cute furry squeezable creatures, a rainbow that stretches as far as the eye can see, and a forest filled with candy”, said Susan.
“Yeah along with river made with golden syrup”, Steven spoke playful smile going along with Susan wild imagination.
“Could you imagine, a river made of sweet golden syrup”, Susan mouth watered just as the thought of such a thing.
“Or it could be made of O’crack soup”, Steven spoke jokingly.
“Don’t even joke about that. Ew, could you imagine an entire river made of slimy disgust O’crack”, Susan spoke, shivering in fear at the thought of an entire river made with her least favourite meal.
“You’re right, I would prefer one made of Egwasus soup”, said Steven.
“Ummm, now you’re talking, could you imagine a more wonderful miracle of nature than an entire river made of Egwasus soup”, said Susan, playfully licking her lips as she imagined entire ocean of favourite meal.
Steven, seeing the expression on Susan’s face, just smiled and nodded.
“When I grow up, I want to travel the world. See everything that’s in it and ride my dragon to the very edge of the world, who knows I might even find an Egwasus”, Susan said with a playful and innocent smile o her face before turning to her brother and asked, “What about you?”

“I want to join the Golden Dragon Guard”, said Steven.
“Isn’t a bit scary, you’ve heard the stories mom and dad use to tell us about how they had to face those scary dark dragon warriors”, said Susan, shivering and trembling at the thought having to face the dark dragon warrior, picturing that had monstrous people with shrouded in darkness with scary glowing red eyes.
Steven, seeing the scared look of Susan’s face, flew his dragon closer to her before saying, “Don’t be scared Susan. When I become a Golden Dragon Guard, I’m going to blow away all the scary dark dragon warriors with my flames”, said Steven.
“Yeah, along with your pants”, said Susan with a soft giggle, recalling a little incident Steven had when she was helping him practice on how to control his flames and how a stray fire ball he managed to conjure up ended hitting his butt, burning a hole through his pants.
“Oh come on Susan, that was one time”, Steven spoke with his entire cheeks glowing red in embarrassment.
The roar of a dragon then echoed from afar.
“Mom and dad are back”, Susan spoke with a bright smile on her face before racing away on her dragon, yelling as she rode away, “Last one home has burning pants”.
“Susan, it only happened one time”, Steven yelled out as he rode after on his dragon.
Those were good times, playing around and sweet innocent fun with his sister, it was bliss. Steven wished things had stayed the way, simple and fun, but sadly, no matter how much Steve wanted things to remain as they were, the burning flame in heart kept growing and each night as he shut his eyes he would be taken back to that night, seeing his parent’s scars and was worst to relive that dreadful nightmare of watching his parents leave and his whole set ablaze, reducing everything to cinders. Steven would wake each day, covered with steam, his body heated and on to verge of bursting out in flames. Taking a few deep breaths in to calm and cool down, he would then watch as his parents left for another mission, and then he and Susan would spend the rest of the day alone together doing what Susan perceived to be nothing more than just fun and play but to Steven it was nothing much more.
He practiced with his flames over and over again until finally.
“Wow”, Susan looked at Steven with awe and star stricken eyes, seeing the flames that enveloped him in bright and brilliant flaming aura, dancing around him in a bright elegance, his eyes having turned in to fierce dragon eyes as stood on grassy covered floor of the open fields right outside their home.
Steven then stretched out his hand and conjured up a massive fire ball before launching straight up in the sky above. Susan watched with eyes widened sparkling awe and amazement as the fire ball, flew up to the sky before erupting in a brilliant, bright and beautiful explosion.
Steven then took in a breath, his flaming aura dissipated and eyes turned back to normal. And then before knew it he was tackled in to a tight warm and loving embrace.
“You did Steven”, Susan spoke as she tightened her grasp on her brother.
“Er Susan...can’t breathe”, Steven spoke, struggling to take a breath due to Susan’s tight hold on him.
“Oh, sorry about that”, Susan with a playful and somewhat naive smile as released her brother from her tight embrace.
“You did, you finally mastered your flames”, she spoke with a voice brimming with pride and happiness for her brother’s achievement.
Steven, hearing her words, looked at his hands and commanded a flame to appear. A bright ember then manifested itself on his open palm. Steven a smile then form on his face before clutched his open palm in a tight fist and raised it up before jumping for joy with a heart filled with happiness as he finally achieved mastery over his flames, now, recalling that fateful night, he could show he parents and prove to them that he could be a Golden Dragon Guard, he could prove to them that he was strong, strong enough to fight so they wouldn’t have to. *Sigh* at least that was what he believed.
