CHAPTER - 127
Narrator: After finishing their ice cream, smiling at Dav, the four girls began dragging him around to take a thousand selfies—eager to post them on the school blog and even print out the photos.
Dav, in despair, tried to pull Rafael off him, while Valeria bit his arm in an attempt to detach him.
Iris took tons of selfies with Selene, and the only real winner was Lucrezia, who managed to get many shots with Dav beside her, struggling to get Rafael off.
Dav, sighing: "Phew, so can we go grab those brats and head to the restaurant, or do you have other plans?"
Bursting with joy, the girls and Rafael jumped to their feet and rushed back to the mall’s entrance, excited and full of energy.
Dav, with a silly expression and arms crossed, watched the scene unfold:
"Just mentioning the restaurant gave them that much energy, huh?.."
The boys were already waiting at the entrance, seated and chatting among themselves.
They noticed the professors returning in high spirits, but before they could say a word, they were rushed into the cars with no time for explanations.
The boys were left speechless, not even managing to say anything in the flurry of excitement and enthusiasm.
Inside the car, Vik told the driver to take them to a proper restaurant, but nothing too noisy.
While riding, Dav looked at Vik with curiosity and asked him a few things about his job and how he was settling in.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Dav: (curious) What’s it like working for my parents?
Vik: (cheerful, with a bright smile and thumbs-up) Your father’s a creative man he likes fixing things around the house himself, whether it's electrical issues, plumbing, or repairs.
I often help him set up furniture in the empty rooms, trying to get everything just right.
(closing his eyes) Your mother, on the other hand, is so lively and kind that everyone on staff loves and respects her deeply.
(dramatic) She always takes care of us, bringing tasty snacks while we train.
(thinking aloud) When we’re setting up the rooms, she often asks about my daughter and why I haven’t brought her to the house yet.
I told her she’d have to wait a few more months until I’m sure her treatments won’t cause any complications or risk exposure after being indoors for so long.
Dav: (nodding) I see.
(chuckling) I hope you’ll bring her to our place someday so she can spoil her a little, haha.
Vik: (laughing) She asks me that every time we clean Lexia's room or play with her grandchildren, haha.
(looking at Dav) I’ve also met your siblings, they seem really driven with their work…
Especially André, he loves cars so much that I often see him reading books about crystals with Cris, trying to build faster and more balanced vehicles.
Dav: (small smile, chuckling) Yeah, they’ve always been obsessed with cars and making them better.
Vik: (hand on chin) Lexia is more... well, she prefers to be alone, either meditating or snacking on chips while looking after the animals at the house.
(counting) I’ve even lost track of how many animals you guys have at that place...
Your parents really love dogs and cats.
(looking out the window) What makes me happiest? None of them are store-bought or rare breeds...
They’re all strays, rescued from the street and cared for, no matter what condition they were in or what they might’ve done to end up like that.
(looking at Dav, reflecting) Now I see where your kindness comes from with a family like that, so caring to everyone.
I’m honestly jealous… and my daughter will see it with her own eyes soon.
Dav: (looking at Vik) I hope I get to meet your daughter one day before the academy starts.
That way I’ll know her from the start.
What’s her name? I don’t think I’ve ever asked.
Vik: (big smile) Her name’s Chiara Karpov, my light and my strength every single day, even after losing my wife.
One day, she’ll have wonderful friends and a great teacher.
She won’t be alone anymore.
When you come back to the house, I’ll introduce her properly.
Dav: (small smile, glancing at Vik) I’m looking forward to it, then.
(looking out) I think we’re here.
Hope they’ve got a good burger.
Valeria: (hand to her face) There it is… he said it.
Iris: (sighing) Yep...
Dav: (silly face) Huh?..
