chapter 43

  'i know what a greater shade is but what is a black devil?' Jackie

  'what? who are you?' Jackie

  looking at the edge of my vision i do notice mail icon with a 1 on it. I'll check that out in the morning.

  'I'll go with greater shade, i rather like being a shade' Jackie

  they say that those that burn bright burn up fast. i disagree, i believe that there are two types of

  people that burn bright, those that collect fuel to burn, and those that simply burn through the

  supply they have.

  i drift off to sleep. i wake up feeling that something is off, the girls aren't around me. i look down at

  myself and see that I'm in my male form, evolving probably reverted me to it.

  "anyone there?" jack

  after a minute i hadn't received an answer so i walk down to the kitchen, noticing no one there i take

  a walk outside, i don't feel like cooking today. after walking for a little bit i hear signs of intense

  fighting, feeling curious i start to walk toward the source, putting on my gauntlets.

  when i get there i see something shocking. there is a huge troll standing in the middle of a clearing, around him are everyone i care about, plus a couple humans. i see jacobe, sally, their parents, Joe, and Selena all spread out around the clearing in pools of their own blood, but they are not the ones i care about. i see a large snake tail on one side of the clearing with Lynda's torso spilling its guts on the other, with Lucy's mangled up twice dead corpse lying next to it.

  i watch in stunned silence while a silver wolf attempts to tear the face off of the giant troll, who punches her in the side. i hear an audible snap as her ribs brake and puncture her internal organs, causing her to die on the spot. Johanna jumps in front of another fist that was going to hit Mary, taking it to the head and having her brain matter spray over our adoptive mother.

  the troll dashes at aunty, who is defended by uncle using some kind of mana shield to block the blow, only to have it shatter and hit him square in the chest, fortunately not killing him, or maybe not as he watches his unborn son get ripped out of his wife's womb by it's head.

  i find myself paralyzed with shock and fear as i realize that there is no mortal or god that could do this, this troll is a titan. the old man flies into a rage and strikes at the trolls jaw with his cloth, breaking it off. the troll takes advantage of the opening the old man made and crushes his head, at

  this time i start to get angry and recover from my shock induced paralysis.

  before i can do anything Mary is killed with a heavy swing from the troll, his jaw already healed. i

  start charging the troll, my body bursts into flames.

  'i guess we'll find out whether i have been collecting fuel or just burning through my stock' jack

  before i can make it to the troll he charges Lilith, who is on her ass staring at everything in shock.

  only to be defended by asmodeus using a magic shield.

  "like hell I'm letting you touch my granddaughter you bitch" asmodeus

  i get to the troll just in time for asmodeus to faint due to mana exhaustion. i smash his forehead in,

  stunning him for a second while i continue to attack his body, only to jump out of the way when his

  forehead heals and does a double handed swing down over my head. after what felt like hours

  fighting, but was closer to 1 minute and 30 seconds, i start to feel out of touch with my body, i can

  still feel my pure anger and hatred for this titan troll but it feels distant, like I'm watching this scene

  in first person rather than actually living it. i look around and notice a distinct lack of people around,

  in the entire village.

  'the troll must have scared them off' jack

  'fuck with his mind' ???

  'who's there? never mind, it doesn't matter.' jack

  i start to probe his mind using psychological magic. his mind is unexpectedly well defended, i can't

  break through, but i do notice his reactions begin to slow down a bit, not enough though. i start to

  feel a little pain and use healing magic on myself before hitting him with psychological magic, this

  time i manage to gain a little headway, in the form of seeing his mana stores, which are truly

  massive.

  'blow this bastard up' ???

  thats a good idea. i attack his mind even harder in order to see his mana supplies again, as soon as i

  do i don't hesitate. i activate mana bomb and blow all of his mana up.

  i look up, as that is the only direction i can look, and see Lilith's tearing up face. i try to smile to

  show her that everything is OK, but i can't, i can't move anything. I'm just a head.

  'well, i at least saved one. i guess i have just been burning. i wonder what my next life will have in

  store for me.' jack

  'it will be an adventure, that's for sure' ???

  i see a light and i begin to move towards it and find.....
