Chapter 48. Anise is back.

Xania wakes up a few days later to Davien smacking her awake.

  “Hey, what’s that for?”

“It’s been a whole week, so could you wake up already?”

“A week?!” Xania quickly gets up, intending to revive Anise as Davien stops her.

  “What?”

“Your divinity isn’t sufficient, your capacity might be enough but your current amount isn’t, if you want, you can supplement it with mana.”

“Oh, do I have enough mana currently?”

  “Barely.”

“Sure,” Xania turns back to Anise then to Davien, “Could you leave?”

“Alright, but don’t blow up her body, if you do that you won’t be able to revive her.”

“Yeah, got it,” Xania says, watching Davien walk out as she turns back to Anise, preparing her mana and divinity as she starts.

The magic circle starts feeling with up the dark mana, turning black as the divinity follows, turning it into a cyan colour.

Once the magic circle fills up, Xania immediately starts feeling her divinity and mana drain at an extreme rate but not stopping.

“Anise, I’m doing so much for you, you better not forget this,” Xania mutters softly, continuing to infuse mana and divinity.

As her mana and divinity drain nearly completely, Xania feels the spell completed pulling away and falling backward before standing back up, looking down at Anise’s body which is breathing much more than before when she was on the verge of death.

Xania tries to shake her awake but she continues to remain asleep, “Hey, Anise, wake up.”

Xania sighs, relieved that Anise is in no current danger of death before reluctantly shouting, “Davien!” As he appears.

“Yes? I believe you wanted me out so why are you calling for me again?” Davien teases as Xania glares at him.

“Fine, I can already guess what you're going to ask, so just wait, she’ll wake up eventually.”

  “How long is eventually?”

“How would I know? Figure that out yourself.”

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“Just get out if you're not gonna help.”

“You’re the one who called me i—”

“Out.” Xania interrupts, teleporting him out.

Xania sets Anise on the bed after removing the magic she set on her body to preserve her body as she lies on the bed too, waiting for her to wake up.

A couple of hours later, Xania falls asleep as Anise slowly wakes up, rubbing her eyes before remembering herself being stabbed, and sits up instantly, feeling the part of her body that got stabbed while panting.

“Huh? What happened?” Anise looks to her left, finding Xania there as she takes the blanket off of Xania, carrying her into the air and shaking her.

“My lord, wake up!” Anise keeps shaking Xania as she doesn’t wake up, “My lord, this isn’t the time to be asleep, wake up!” Anise keeps shaking Xania and spinning her as she accidentally hits Xania’s head on the wall.

“Oops…” Anise gently puts her back down, still trying to wake her up before giving up, “Screw it, that zombie bastard ought to know.” Anise carries Xania up again, teleporting around to find Davien, eventually finding him in her office. Yes, you read that right, Anise has an office.

“Ah, miss Anise, I see your back again,” Davien says, completely unbothered.

“Explain to me what happened to me, what happened, and most importantly, why my lord here is officially only slightly taller than a teenager!”

“Fine, long story short. She saved you, she got hurt, she healed herself, she revived you.” Davien says, moving away instantly, leaving Anise there with Xania as Xania slowly wakes up.

“Huh, why am I here?” Xania says softly, rubbing her eyes and finding Anise holding her up, “Anise! You're finally back!”

“My lord, can you explain what happened first?”

“Sure.” Xania starts explaining everything that happened as Anise keeps holding her up.

  “Wow.” Anise says, dropping Xania.

“Anise, just go back to bed and rest.” Xania says, teleporting Anise back into the bedroom with her, “Happily.” She answers.

Over the next few days, Xania keeps getting Anise to rest with her enjoying it at first but slowly finding it annoying over time.

Anise sneaks into her office, finding Xania there as Xania also notices her.

  “Anise, get back to bed.”

“My lord, get out of my chair, I like not doing work but this is so weird, just let me do it!”

Anise tries snatching the paper work on the table, consisting of only complaints and reports as Xania also snatched it, both not using too much strength to avoid ripping the papers

  “My lord, let go!”

  “No you!”

The paper still rips in half as both of them fall backwards with Anise tackling Xania.

“My lord, why are you even doing this? You hate work don't you?!”

“Yea, but… nothing, just give it!” Xania tries to gently push Anise off as Anise traps them in with a forcefield.

“Not until you tell me why!”

“Fine ok? I don't want you to hate me okay?” Xania admits, looking away embarrassed, combined with her height seeming like a somewhat tall teenager who got caught doing something bad.

“What? I need you to elaborate here.”

“Well, you almost died while protecting me and all that so…”

Anise immediately gets rid of the forcefield as she stands up, laughing at Xania, annoying her and embarrassing her further.

“My lord, are you kidding me?”

  “huh?”

“Just go back to being normal and let me handle this, you sound ridiculous, I'm not going to hate you just for that.”

Anise ignores Xania's protest, pushing her out of the room.

“My lord, just go back and let things return to normal” she shouts through the door, turning back to look at the destroyed room.

“Can't believe she was actually so worried about something like that.” Anise thinks to herself, sighing as she starts cleaning up the room.

While cleaning up the room, Anise notices a report from one of her spies along with one from the elves' kingdom, both reporting the same thing.

“Hm? What is this about?” She picks up both reports as she takes a deep breath, “my lord, get back here!”
