Chapter 51.1: Kinkou Order, Temple of Xuanian

Orion's sciousness slowly returned, greeted by the fragrance of herbs and inse.

'When was the st time everythihis peaceful?' he wondered, caught in the brief serenity.

What's more, his bed was soft. Soft?

It took a moment for realization to strike, and his eyes snapped open fully. Nothing hurt as it did before- some mild aches here and there- but deep fatigue g to his body.

What greeted him was the strange sight of a ceiling formed by intricate weavings of tree branches. His gaze drifted down to a wall where twisting trees formed a perfect barrier against the outside elements.

  "Are you Noxian?"

A sharp, distrustful voice startled him.

Sat nearby with her legs crossed was an older dy in her early thirties. Her bck hair was tied ba a ponytail, her sharp eyes watg him closely. She wore light green, flowing garments that seemed suited for both ceremony and bat, bearing patterns simir to those worn by the man named Shen.

She held a ical gre as her grip tightened around a on Orion couldn't quite identify.

"No," Orion started cautiously. "I'm from Piltover. Where is this... temple?"

"How did you end up here?" She tered, refusing to answer him.

"I don't know," Orion shrugged, sitting up carefully. "Hey, I don't! I didn't want to e here- wherever this pce is."

Her grip tightened on her on when he expressed his fusion, but after a moment of silence, she exhaled sharply with irritation aance softened.

"You're in Ionia," She finally replied. "Five my rudeness. I am Mayyam Jhomehi, the Fist of Shadow within the Kinkou Order."

"My name's Orion," Orion said, frowning. "I've never heard of the Kinkou Order..."

"Not surprising. You are fn." Mayyam replied, shaking her head. "It may not have been iional, but your arrival caused a magical disturbance- an imbance." She gestured toward a stitched and bandaged wound on her arm, "We've been dealing with it since."

Before Orion could ask what she meant, a strange ugh made him flinch.

He whipped his head around, blinking in fusion. At first, he thought it was a young child because of its size. But no, this was something different. A small, furry creature darted into sight, grinning mischievously.

"She's getting slow in her age," the creature teased before somersaulting onto the bed with Orion, barely disturbing it.

It wore dark blue and purple robes with golden trim and once again, marked with those same intricate patterns.

Light brown fur poked out from the robes and oversized, blue eyes watched him pyfully. A pair e, furry ears poked out from the robe's hood, strahey were ed with tuffs of fur poking out.

It must have been obvious, his fusion because Mayyam chuckled.

"First time seeing a yordle too?" Mayyam asked, smirking as Orion iffly.

"Despite their furry cute appearances, don't uimate them. Especially this one."

"I'm not cute!" the yordle saking a wide martial arts stance. "I'm dangerous!"

Unimpressed, Mayyam rolls her eyes. "Yes, very dangerous. Why don't you introduce yourself properly so that we return to our duties?"

"S..." the yordle pouted, straightening its robe dramatically. "My name's Kehe one and only Heart of the Tempest! And you, young boy, have unusual magic!"

"Our temple draws magid spirit energy from the nd and sea- far and wide. Magic is uable, but it also attracts more magic! Perhaps that is why you are here- swept away in a storm of wild energies!"

Darting forward, the yordle grabs Orion's face with both hands and dramatically says, "You! Must! Help us!" Then, just as suddenly, he released his grip and added ftly, "Because you're the cause."
