Volume 10. Chapter 46: Her Care Is A Bit Vexing... (Chapter 947)

Chapter 46: Her Care Is A Bit Vexing...

Rarely do Higher Beings need rest, but I truly needed this forced sleep… Upon waking up, I found myself on the pitch-black floor, with my head resting in Nemu’s lap.

Nemu: “My theory was correct.” She said with a smug tone.

Narrator Vulely: “And which theory would that happen to be?” I asked in reply, choosing to play along with the annoying woman.

Nemu: “Your mental state was very, very poor. All because of that horrid future you experienced.” She answered with an empathic sigh.

  Narrator Vulely: “…”

Nemu: “Spending this long in this empty void… not even tending to your various wounds. Covered in so much dried up blood… I honestly thought that you were almost dead when I came to this place, and saw you looking so lost.” She continued, now gently rubbing my head.

Ah, that’s right… I didn’t heal myself after getting back to my office. The physical pain helped distract from my mental anguish… Even if I wasted away in this place for years, damage to this extent wouldn’t have been healed without Magic.

If you’re curious… no. Nemu is not seducing me, nor am I starting to get interested in her. She wasn’t treating me like a wife, or potential romantic partner. Though I haven’t detailed it before, this is how Celia’s wives treat each other. Similar to how good sisters would, but on an even higher level.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Narrator Vulely: “Nemu, what will you do now?” I ask with a deep sigh, covering my eyes with one of my hands.

Nemu: “You didn’t get to see what caused all of that destruction, though it is easy to guess that it originates from that Dimension Celia is currently in. Celia and you should be enough to prevent that future from occurring… But, I shall go with you, alongside other powerful members of our family.” She honestly answered, telling me what I already mostly guessed.

If I wasn’t so distraught at the time, I’d have got that dying Celia’s memories first before leaving. Doing so could have helped us out greatly. Now… we just have to hope that we’ll be enough, and such a disastrous timeline doesn’t become ours…

Narrator Vulely: “Celia acted as if, once I left, that being immediately sprung into action. Will you even have enough time to get them before then?” I ask with a serious tone and expression, doing a thinking pose, which must have looked quite funny, given my current position.

Nemu: “It won’t be a problem at all.” She instantly replied, confidence clear in her voice.

  Narrator Vulely: “( ’-’ ~)”

Nemu: “What? Don’t believe your dear sister wife? As I’ve said before, even when the narration is paused, I am aware, unfrozen. I can help anyone do the same thing, you see.” She explained with a smug tone, once more.

  A Few Hours Later.

Despite resting for so long, I still had to recover quite a bit more. Nemu healed me by a great amount of HP, but Divinity wasn’t something that she could help with. Divinity and Mana are two different things…

Nemu: “No point in heading into battle while still injured.” Was what she said before leaving, likely going to get whomever of the family that Nemu best thought would be powerful enough to help.

My Divinity was getting close to being completely replenished, which meant… I would soon need to face my fears. If it means saving my family… then I must do this, regardless of my trauma!
