Chapter 38: With That Out Of The Way...
Frankly speaking, Celia’s fix was pretty easy, and something that Xena and Runey should have figured out on their own. Although… doing said fix would have been a struggle for either of them, with Celia finally flexing her actual power.
Celia: “Come to think of it… Besides getting into Home, what else is there for us to do?” She asked with a conflicted tone while doing thinking pose, seeming to still be upset at how easy fixing the System ended up being.
Guanyu: “With all of our families endless cheating methods, I doubt there is anything else that we need to do. After all, there isn’t a living Being, now or in the future, who could challenge even the weakest person in this family.” She seriously answered, seeing her wife be in an off state of mind.
Celia: “…”
Guanyu: “?”
Why did Celia go silent? Am I missing something?… Even the all-knowing Cultivator looks confused about her wife’s actions.
Celia: “Vulely, I am talking to you in my head.” She clarified with a sigh, like this was my fault.
Narrator Vulely: “And how am I supposed to know that?!” I angrily (but in a joking way) replied.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Celia: “Hm? Because you invade the thoughts of everyone, regardless of who they are. I know for a fact that your criteria for what counts as an important thought is random, if not nonexistent to begin with.” She shot back with a smug, gently scolding tone.
At this point, I was truly upset. Not because Celia said this to me… but because this wasn’t a simple, one-on-one conversation between her and Guanyu. It was a discussion between the entire family, with most of our friends included as well… She just outed my deep, perverted secret, and now everyone here was staring daggers at me!!!…

Celia: “…”
Guanyu: “Celia… are you secretly talking to Vulely once more? What is it that you intend to keep from me…us?” She asked with a deeply hurt expression, the rest of those in the room doing similar things with their faces.
Celia: “No, no. Nothing special, or a secret. Mostly a joke. Are you not listening in on my thoughts, Vulely? The others, though begrudgingly, have given you permission to do that to them, and so have I.” She explained with a coaxing tone.
Narrator Vulely: “Yes, but… the future you forbade me from listening in on your thoughts. You two are the same person, but, of course, what my Celia’s says still overrides the past Celia’s words.” I honestly answered.
In all of this, I don’t think that we ever got any conclusion to what this conversation was original about. Truthfully… with our immortality, scenes like this are all too common. The amount of stuff that I’ve cut out of my narration… could easily take up well over five more novels.
Celia: “You actually listen to what the future me says? Maybe I should start being more stern…” She mused with another thinking pose, tone that of absolute seriousness… and amusement.
Narrator Vulely: “That’s what you took away from this conversation?!?!” I shouted with a tone of utter defeat.
Everyone Else: “( ’-’ ~)”
