Volume 10. Chapter 32: Deciding To Cheat, Just Like My Wife! (Chapter 933)

Chapter 32: Deciding To Cheat, Just Like My Wife!

The System I knew of was… mangled, and never really fixed. Though, it had broken in different ways. As such, while Runey and Xena struggled to fix the System, I had no means of helping them.

Mena: “Hm? Mom?” She said with a yawn.

Narrator Vulely: “You just woke up, even at this hour?” I jokingly replied, tenderly rubbing her sleepy little head.

Since I had no idea how to fix Runey’s mistakes, and due to how I wanted… my job to come to an end sooner, I am now back in the present.

Mena: “Wraiths, and Ghosts in general, are tired beings by nature.” She replied with an unbothered shrug.

Narrator Vulely: “A trait which you truly seem to have kept.” I said with a giggle, always filled with love for my daughters.

Mena: “Kept, and unlikely to ever get rid of… Anyway, are you about done with your narration?” She asked with a serious tone and expression, her previous sleepiness vanishing almost instantly.

  Narrator Vulely: “(~OAO)”

How the hell does she know?! It should be just Celia and me who knows about my job, let alone what it entailed. Is Celia more open these days?…

Mena: “Why are you so deadpanly quiet? Oh! You must have just gotten back, huh?” She mused with a thinking pose.

Narrator Vulely: “…Yep.” I weakly reply, sheepishly nodding.

Mena: “Ah, well… Runey isn’t one to keep secrets. She let the truth slip many years ago.” She informed with a cheeky tone and expression.

  Narrator Vulely: “(- _ -)”

That little brat!!! Not Mena, I meant Runey. Dammit! I can’t go back to narration, and scold her for this, either. It is best to not mess with the past, unless absolutely needed, or who knows what kind of absurd butterfly effect will occur…

Mena: “Mom, I want to go back to sleep… Can you answer my question, please?” She pleaded, showing me her puppy eyes, easily hitting my motherly weakness.

Narrator Vulely: “This is chapter 32 of 100, so it won’t be much longer. Though, I am going to have a talk with Celia for a bit, and we might be able to speed up the whole thing, depending on what she tells me.” I honestly reply, seeing no reason to lie to her anymore.

Mena: “Great!” She replied with a happy, bright smile, before then dashing off into the hall.

Wait… when did this place get so… regal, yet modern? The original present was… lazy, with Celia not bothering to change the garish Roman-like architecture. Ah, she isn’t broken this time around, so… of course she’d care about her living environment.

  A Walk Later.

Mena: “Wait!!!!!” She exclaimed, looking to be in a hurry.

  Mena: “???”

As I was about to open the door to Celia’s room, my daughter popped up (she actually ran, rather than teleport) in front of me. Strange… I don’t sense anything wrong with Celia, nor does there seem to be anyone else in her room. Besides my wife, that is.

Mena: “Hey… umm… Celia is…” She kept stumbling over her words, leaving me with no idea as to what my dearest daughter is worried about.

  Narrator Vulely: “…”
