Chapter 94: I've Been Making A Lot Of Mistakes Lately...
Ruina: “That reaction…” She voiced with pure shock.
Narrator Vulely: “…”
Ruina: “You can hear all of our thoughts?!” She yelled in horror.
Narrator Vulely: “(~z~)”
I seem to… be getting too involved in the story. In my enjoyment, I keep making silly mistakes. Oh, well. I haven’t done anything that bad, and my daughter is quite wise.
Ruina: “Don’t pretend to be asleep, you knock off Magical Girl mascot!” She angrily commanded, though, the good daughter did not hit me, and her voice wasn’t filled with any vitriol.
Narrator Vulely: “My gem-like daughter… no one else, not even Xena… knows that I can hear everyone’s thoughts.” I weakly inform.
Ruina: “If they did… you’d have been killed by now, even if you’re our family. Or, at the very least… beaten until you stopped doing that.” She replied in an annoyed tone, rubbing her head.
She isn’t wrong. I planned on taking this to my grave, and, as I am immortal… I mean never speaking of it.
At this Evolution, Mind Reading is a Magic that all of us have access to. Of course, using such Magic on family is against our unspoken rules. Even worse… is that the past me, the current Vulely… is constantly doing this.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Ruina: “Habits are habits, Mom.” She continued with her arms crossed.
Narrator Vulely: “That’s… true.” I reply, pretending not to understand her spot on implication.
Ruina: “You know what I mean! Enough… I’ll just scold Vulely later.” She replied with a furious expression.
Ah, if she does that… then I won’t be able to display the thoughts of those in the story… Yes, doing this to my family is horrible, but… Mind Reading is basically required!!!
Ruina: “You aren’t happy about this? Listen… are you showcasing every single thought?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Narrator Vulely: “No, I am exclusively only showing ones important to the story. If we’re accounting for the last 100 or so chapters… I have merely depicted a few thousand out of the millions of thoughts.” I honestly answer.
In the grand scheme of things, I am doing the best to protect my family… while still providing a good story. That is what Celia asked of me to do, and she did give me permission to read thoughts. I told this to my daughter as well.
Ruina: “What are the supposed benefits of merging with Runey?” She asked once more, putting the previous topic aside for now.
Narrator Vulely: “That Magic wasn’t designed to merge Souls, so, you and Runey will keep separate Systems and Statuses.” I explained in reply.
Ruina: “…That’s all?” She expressed with a head tilt.
Narrator Vulely: “Well… despite having separate Statuses… your strength and Stats get combined.” I clarified with a giggle.
Ruina: “( ? _ ? )”
Narrator Vulely: “Assuming this doesn’t change for this timeline, you and Runey will always be second to Celia in power. Guanyu doesn’t count, as she is an outlier.” I add, wanting to spice the deal up some more.
Ruina: “(~OAO)”
Narrator Vulely: “Oh, and, don’t worry. I’ll block your memories of this discussion so that the mistake happens organically, just as it did before.” I nonchalantly added, ending my words with another giggle.
Ruina: “…”
