Chapter 26 : The Assault

"Last night, several mystical creatures appeared here and went on a rampage," said Grandma Borga.

Grandma Borga finally told everything. Those mystical creatures appeared and attacked the DV Army headquarters. However, the DV Army's defense system was extremely strong, so their attack was easily repelled.

In addition, Wirtz also came out to beat all the mystical creatures that arrived. It didn't take long for all of them to die miserably. But this became a sign that the DV Army headquarters had already been discovered by the enemy, meaning there was also an intelligent mystical creature behind it.

"This is a heartbreaking history for us. In history, there has never been a single mystical creature that managed to approach this headquarters."

Jyu listened to it seriously. However, a big question now appeared in his mind, "What is their purpose for coming here?"

Because in truth mystical creatures only target humans to devour their souls. If they attacked the DV Army headquarters, it was as if they were decring war.

This was only Jyu's assumption, but on the other hand, he also wanted to know the truth.

"Why did they attack? Isn't their target humans?" Jyu asked Borga.

Grandma Borga handed a tray containing food to Jyu while saying, "We still don't know, our intel team is still investigating."

"My prediction is that sooner or ter there will be a mystical creature at the Arabai level attacking. That is our greatest threat!"

Jyu then walked toward the dining table with a chaotic mind. No one knew what would happen, but the major event that struck the DV Army truly threatened every soul sheltered beneath it.

"Today Lucas died, maybe tomorrow or the day after, or next month, I will share the same fate."

  ---

A day of mourning was announced. All DV Army soldiers gathered at the training ground to give their final respect to the fallen soldiers.

The training ground was packed with soldiers, perhaps more than 100 people. Jyu stood in one of the rows, blending with senior soldiers who looked authoritative and strong.

At the front of the line were two coffins, where the two fallen soldiers y, one of them was Lucas. Meanwhile, the leaders of the DV Army, including Master Jenna, stood in front of those two coffins.

"Today we lost two of our brothers, Lucas and Stel. They were killed while securing district five from an attack by mystical creatures," said Master Felix.

"You must already know that tely, more high-level mystical creatures have been attacking. Even our headquarters has been attacked by them. We still don't know the purpose of this attack, but our challenge is growing bigger."

The eyes of the soldiers present sharpened and grew more terrifying. They seemed to be cultivating vengeance and wanted to avenge the deaths of Lucas and Stel.

"After this, we will strengthen the guard of the DV Army headquarters. Besides at least two people must carry out that, patrols or battles against mystical creatures," Master Felix expined again.

The tribute ceremony for Lucas and Stel sted briefly. All the soldiers immediately left to return to their respective posts. It seemed everyone was becoming busier; there was no more joking around. Some were busy preparing guard shifts and returning to sweep the area around the headquarters to find clues about st night's attack.

However, the busyness did not apply to Jyu and Sizhi. Their status was still that of students at the academy, and unfortunately, the remaining students were only them. Marco and seven others had already been decred graduated. Actually, their graduation was still one week away, but due to the recent attack, it was accelerated.

Jyu and Sizhi could only sit casually in the cafeteria, watching soldiers move back and forth because of their duties.

"I was warned by Grandma Borga, the person who guards the cafeteria. We must train harder to avoid getting killed. The situation is truly unsafe!" Jyu expined.

"But what training should we do?" Sizhi asked softly.

Both of them thought together to find the right training method. Because all the Masters were busy, asking them to train might be a mistake.

"Wait! I don't want to hear your idea, I don't want my life threatened again," Sizhi protested. It seemed he still couldn't forget the st incident, in which the training involved fighting thousands of mystical creatures. Even though the pn failed, the annoyance in Sizhi's heart had not disappeared.

"Fine! Whatever you say," Jyu replied helplessly.

While they were chatting, unexpectedly Grandma Borga came and sat right in front of Jyu. "Are you two unemployed?" she asked.

"You'd better train now, I will become your trainer."

Of course, this was quite surprising for Jyu and Sizhi. Especially Jyu, he immediately looked down on Grandma Borga. Because an older woman stood in front of him, looking weak.

"Are you sure?" Jyu asked spontaneously.

"Don't underestimate me, I can kill you easily," Borga said firmly.

Finally, Jyu and Sizhi agreed to the offer. The three of them immediately headed to the training center on the third floor.

Borga didn't want to waste time, she immediately gave a training demonstration that amazed the two students. Borga picked up a pebble from the rubble of stones. Then she clenched it tightly and threw it at a rge rock.

The pebble shot forward quickly and struck the rock hard. The pebble embedded perfectly, and a rge crack appeared on the rock.

"Amazing!" Jyu and Sizhi said at the same time.

But seeing this result, Borga was not satisfied. "My strength has declined. If I were as young as you, that big rock would have been destroyed."

"Teach us!" Jyu said again with sparkling eyes.

Then Borga picked up another pebble and pced it on her palm. "This pebble becomes so hard because I coated it with the energy of my soul core. Every object can be coated with your power, including your punches and kicks."

"But all of this can only be achieved if your soul's core power has developed beyond that of ordinary humans."

"Now take a pebble, then try to channel your soul's core power. Feel your power flowing until it envelops the pebble. Your target is that rock, destroy it with a single throw."

Jyu and Sizhi were very enthusiastic about this training. Jyu had taken a pebble, clenched it tightly, then closed his eyes to focus. He felt the energy of his soul core, trying hard to channel it until it covered the pebble.

"This is so difficult!" Jyu said in frustration.

Suddenly, Borga got up and left. "Do it until that big rock is destroyed. I will return in two hours, whoever has the worst result will fight me."

Jyu and Sizhi immediately turned back as if wanting to protest to Borga. "Why does training always have to involve fighting?" Jyu protested.

"This is the only way for you to become strong instantly," Borga replied.

"And one more thing, the fight ter has no rules. So you may use weapons or demon powers. So prepare your bodies to be injured."
