  Day 117 - Third Rotation

The cargo arrived today. Two days ahead of schedule.

I was coordinating with Sergeant Major Stratoskha yesterday on the arrival paperwork when we got the updated timeline. The shipment manifest listed delivery for April 1st, but apparently they made better time than projected. No complaints from me - early is better than late.

The cargo came in its own container. Steel construction, roughly 8m×8m×8m - nearly identical dimensions to the unit we've been building. Heavy. Required the station's loading mechanisms and a four-person engineering crew just to move it from the docking bay to Main Lab secure storage.

Everyone's curious. Research team. Engineering. Even maintenance staff were lingering around the cargo bay trying to get a look. No one knows what's inside. Dr. Chen's been tight-lipped, and the manifest just lists it as "classified materials - U.C.R. priority."

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

But here's what stood out: the escort.

Unit Volatus 1. Nine-member Earth Interstellar Military unit. Led by Lieutenant Randall Voss - easily over two meters tall, built like he could crush steel with his bare hands, and carries himself with the kind of presence that makes everyone in a room instinctively defer to him. His team matched the energy. Serious. Disciplined. Armed.

They didn't leave the cargo's side from docking to delivery. Watched every movement. Verified every signature. Voss personally inspected the storage unit we'd built before authorizing transfer.

Then they left. Back to their ship. Gone within two hours of delivery.

Volatus units aren't standard transport security. They're deployed for high-risk operations. Hazardous material recovery. Hostile environment extractions. Things that go wrong in ways most people don't survive.

So what the hell did we just accept delivery of that requires that level of escort?

Dr. Chen says we'll know when we need to know. I hate that answer.
