What was the pandemonium?

  "Ow."

A sharp numbness rang through his legs and muscles as he sat on a bench near the building.

Walking around for hours on end wasn't the most pleasant experience for him even if he chose it.

  —

  —

Stunned at the response, Julo's hand started to shake at the thought of walking around for no purpose.

  —

  'Oh'

Relieved at the not soo funny joke, he stepped into the building after resting for a long period of time.

His stomach was already sending faint signals that it was starving and he wanted to get some information too.

Although, he wasn't quite sure how he was going to get the information until he remembered there was someone that he could ask.

'I just got to think really hard, right?'

  [What do you need?]

Without having time to think properly, her voice came into his head almost instantly.

  'Um.'

He didn't know what to say at the sudden voice inside his head even though he called for it. The reason being, he didn't quite expect her to come instantly after thinking about her. He thought she would only come after he thought of her coming but that seems to be not the case.

Slightly uncomfortable at the thought of her reading his thoughts, he quickly asked.

'You haven't—told me how to become an Overlapped.'

Reminding her that she didn't haven't told him anything about getting stronger like he was told, he eagerly waited for an answer.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Although, he could just get a normal job and live that way. He felt like thing wouldn't go exactly to plan that way.

A strange premonition was preventing him from thinking that way.

Trusting his feelings, he planned on getting stronger through her and wasn't going to stop until he could confidently defend himself.

[There's auction weekly in here, that's how they get 90% of their income. I guess you could buy something that could help you there. It's just that the auction is quite secretive so I doubt you can get in there without knowing the code.]

Her thoughts stopped being transmitted into his mind for a bit.

[Yeah, my mark on you is enough. Just go into the staff only room on the second floor.]

Julo instinctually felt something left his mind after processing these words.

It was certain that the feeling was due to her leaving his mind which made him more comfortable than before.

"Where did you go ma'am? If you're comfortable answering, of course." Greeting him was the boy behind the counter.

His expression was the same as before, only slightly being less extreme.

"I walked." Still not used to the voice disguise, he managed to let two words go through his mouth.

  "I see."

Without planning to engage any further, the sound of his steps echoed through the building as the mirror of the elevator reflected his appearance.

'Geez, Travestita is really good at this.'

  Really really.

Her makeup skills were probably on par with one of the best beauty salon with her being able to disguise people with any sizes or gender.

'I wonder how long this will last though.' Worries flooded his mind as the elevator door opened to beams of dark light reflecting off the mirror.

Julo's expression turned into one of discomfort as the loud music blasted into his ears.

"Would you like to wear one of these?" A young girl from the corner of his ears, extended her arms.

Noticing her, he examined the object in her hands.

'A earmuffs...wait no, these have Versile properties in it.'

Carefully examining the threats of the Versile, he noticed that it was made into a weird circuit like patterns.

"No worries, these are free. You do have to give them back when you leave."

Thinking Julo was taking long due to being wary of a con artist, she reassured that it wasn't.

Julo took the earmuffs before putting it on his head.

The noise surrounding him suddenly became as quiet as ambience noises.

He could hear the music but the volume was low enough to not feel discomfort.

Taking a few steps from his position, he noticed that plenty of people were also wearing the same earmuffs.

There were also a few poker tables along with plenty of games.

Although, he wasn't quite interested in these games, he still decided that they were worth remembering.

Sitting down on one of the seats near the bartender, he asked for the menu.

The bartender with earmuffs, looked him before smiling at him with genuine likeness.

"These earmuffs are great. Thanks for bringing it in." He walked towards him while mixing drinks in his hand.

"Hm?" Confused at the bartender's words.

"You made quite the pandemonium last night due to it." With that, he resumed mixing drinks.

Julo stared at him for a while before looking down at the paper he brought him.

'What did I actually do last night.'
