— Eggman’s Base (Capital District) —
Inside the base, this area is filled with numerous police officers and detectives, who are investigating the entire complex under the city hall. The reactor has been fully shut down, which concludes this mission for this base alone. This means that two of the seven reactors have been shut down, although the site is entirely ruined following Amy and Ism's fight.
“First, a base like this was dealt with in Downtown District… and now here in Capital District. Some coincidence…?” One of the police officers explains to one of the many detectives the anomalies throughout Haven City, finding it too coincidental that Eggman’s inventions are involved.
“Earlier, we were investigating the one in Downtown District using the drone, and it has the same reactor as this one. Thankfully, we can fully investigate it in person.” One of the detectives says as he looks at scientists trying to research this place altogether. “Plus, every single thing had that same logo every time. I know we’re all doing this, uncovering what this ‘Eggman’ has for us. At least we have that conspicuous team to help bypass those recruiters…” He watches the two medically into the elevator, watching the door slowly close. “... Definitely makes things better for us.”
“Does that suggest we need more reinforcements to help them or…?”
“Nah. I think they got it. But…”
“This Kingdom isn’t normal…”
— City Hall (Capital District) —
Outside City Hall, Amy and Woofa are treated medically with professional care, checking every injury they have sustained; however, the medical team is surprised that these injuries they sustained are relatively minor. Still, that didn’t stop them from getting treated right away, as they wrapped bandages around them. While this is happening, the crowd had formed a circle, praising their heroic actions yet again, some asking for their autographs. While it’s hectic, the main thing is that they’re fine.
“Amy, Woofa?! Oh, thank god you’re fine!” Tails exclaims in his own concern, immediately checking their injuries with the professionals. He, along with Sonic, Tricky, and Knuckles, appeared. All of them were concerned and breathless, desperately checking for their injuries as their top priority. “We were worried about you two, especially you, Amy! Seeing that footage, we thought you’re almost going to die from the mayor!”
Thankfully, checking the injuries sustained, everything was relatively minor, almost as if the battle never even happened. “Man… It looked like you withstood her well!” Sonic hands them a bit more rings to increase their health. “I’m just making sure, otherwise you’ll be cooked in the next battle.”
“I think we’ll be alright… Sonic.” Amy politely hands some of the rings back to the Blue Blur; his response is a bit funny. “You know how tough we’ve been through in battles.”
“Besides, Ism was strong! Even if we don’t look like we sustained a lot, those blows were enough to make me unconscious for a few minutes!” Woofa complains, leaning forward while she rubs her head. Huffs. “At least we’ve got that over with for the day.”
Tricky playfully rolls his eyes and, oddly enough, holds his laughter, finding it hilarious that his friend was unconscious. “Heh. At least someone finally felt what it was like to be uncon-“
Yank!
“OWWWW!!!” The porcupine reacts in pain, disliking the dog pulling his ear. “STOP! STOP!” Thankfully, she releases her grasp, relieving Tricky for a bit. “Not cool! That was a joke, Woofa!”
“Joke or not, you don’t laugh when someone’s unconscious, especially when someone’s going to die!” The dog angrily says in front of her friend’s face, pushing him away to create some distance.
“Get it together, you two!” Knuckles intervenes, pushing them away even more to avoid another argument. “It’s annoying when you two decide to argue like children! Forcing me to be a parent!” The echidna mutters to himself, already annoyed by losing tons of rings to the porcupine. “At least you’re not insane like her.”
From afar, the former mayor, Ism the Llama, struggles against the police while being handcuffed. She does everything to escape—kicking, flaring, just doing anything but succeeding. But for the most part, she screams and exclaims to the people, “LET ME GO!!! THAT VIDEO WAS A HOAX!!! THAT ENTIRE FOOTAGE WAS-“
“BOO!!! THE MAYOR IS A TRAITOR!” However, the public knows that the footage wasn’t a hoax. They throw bottles and cans, along with some litter, at her, forcing the police officers to move quickly with the process and take them to the police car to protect themselves and their former mayor. “NO TRAITOR SHOULD BE THE MAYOR AGAIN!!!”
“This mission can’t get this bizarre! Then again, that’s what we had to go through back home… Man… My life is full of insanity!” Sonic finds these situations gradually becoming more hectic. This entire mission has already been bizarre. First, the infamous Northern District. Second, literally rescuing Solid from an 8-year-old. Third, stopping the scientist and the reactor from melting down. And now, the mayor who actually worked for Eggman. But every result is everyone being there for the team, and that’s the case for today; the Blue Blur looks at them, seeing everyone together.
— D.D. Police Station (Downtown District) —
Sigh…
“Is this my punishment…?” Solid looks down at the ground, waiting for the police officer to inspect the files of his criminal evidence. All he can hear is the page being flipped and the clock ticking every passing second. Although Min did her best to prevent him from getting arrested, it never worked, so he’s here, stuck in this mess. “Helping out my friends really landed me here… At least they’re fine-“
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“Mr. Solid the Hedgehog. You’ve been arrested for trespassing without any consent-“
“Didn’t I get consent from my friends?”
“Well, your friends weren’t the mayor. Only the mayor can invite and approve someone to the private area, to which you have violated.” The police officer points her pen at him, correcting the orange hedgehog. “Do you understand, or do you need more verification?”
Solid shakes his head, doing his best to avoid a negative reaction from the officer. “No ma’am… I… I understand…”
…
“… So…”
“Not right now, Solid.”
“... Sorry about that…”
THUD!!!
“WHY THE HELL DID YOU ARREST SOLID?!?!?!”
The police officer scoffs, shaking her head while she flips through the files, somewhat amused by this situation. “Someone wants you, huh?”
“... That’s my best friend… She wouldn’t be happy when she finds out that I got arrested after I helped them…”
More muffled voices were heard outside the room, the argument not calming down anytime soon. Still, the situation worsens outside, as suddenly crashing sounds become apparent. “I HAD TO DEAL WITH THAT MAYOR, AND NOW YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT-?!”
“CALM DOWN, WOOFA!!!”
“She’s not going to give in too…” The exchange continues from outside, and they’re not going to give up any time soon. In fact, it continues for the next five or so minutes until things unexpectedly remain calm. Solid can only helplessly wait, nervously awaiting the worst to happen once they come inside this room.
The police officer finishes reading or skimming all of the documents before placing them down. She patiently waits for something hectic, but nothing ensues for the next few minutes. Though her patience gradually becomes like Sonic, already waiting for them. “Are they-“
CRASH!!!
Woofa immediately stomps inside, with Amy and Tails also appearing, trying to calm her down. “YOU BETTER EXPLAIN TO ME WHY HE’S ARRESTED!!! Cause if you don’t… I promise you that someone's gonna get an actual beating…” She cracks her knuckles, getting ready to put on another fight.
“Calm down, hero. Sorry about arresting your boyfriend. Geez…” The police officer shakes her head before she calmly hands the files to the dog. Though Woofa snatches the files aggressively, clearly upset. “Besides, you wouldn’t want to pick a fight with an elephant. Would you?”
“He’s not even my boyfriend… Stupid police officers… arresting my orange furball without permission.” Muttering… Clearly, the dog is in a frustrated mood, and Solid understands that. One insult and she’ll be like Knuckles, all about throwing out fists. She eventually calms herself down and asks the police officer a question. “So what’s the typical penalty for trespassing?”
“Usually, if it’s trespassing on private property, typically someone has a fine of 1000 Lunars.” The police officer takes a deep breath, already experienced this a couple of times in her entire career, but does so anyway. “However, because this is a City Hall, one of the most important places in this city and this kingdom, it’s at least 6 months in prison-“
“SIX MONTHS?!?!?!”
“Calm down! Listen first before you react! Obviously, people are still going to react before I say something…” She scratches her head, knowing reactions like this get to her. “Why do I ALWAYS do this…? Oh well… it gets funnier every passing second, and right now is no exception.” Then, continuing her explanation, which eventually gets better. “But he did something to help you two reveal that now criminal mayor… I’ll reduce you to a better option, 3 days of house arrest. Better?”
Thankfully, Woofa takes a deep sigh of relief, hearing the now relaxed penalty. It’s almost as if something gave her a second chance… which her best friend always does to her, but whatever. Sure, Solid still committed a crime, but at least it’s more manageable for the dog, keeping him safe in an apartment from everyone. However, she does have one question… “It can be any home that he personally knows… right…?”
“… Yeah…? At least Haven City considers it legal.”
— Woofa’s Apartment (Downtown District) —
After going through the process, which surprisingly doesn’t involve a literal court, Solid has an ankle monitor attached to him. The team can’t help but continually look down at his ankle, especially as they walk through public. At least the public has the decency to respect their own lives, not really minding the situation they’re in after the mission. Despite everyone being back together, it’s a weird moment because everyone remained silent, respecting their friend’s situation.
Arriving at the apartment building, the team finally speaks up after an awkwardly silent moment. “The fact that you even have a harsher punishment than me is crazy!” Tricky exclaims, genuinely trying to make their conversation uplifting, even getting to the point where he bumps his shoulder with his brother’s to make the moment better. “I think it’s because I defended my case with self-defense, while you literally just trespassed the place. Actually thinking about it, I kind of hated doing that community service. What the hell?”
“I’m not sure if joking about this is a good thing… Right…?” Despite the porcupine’s attempt to uplift the mood, Tails glances at the orange hedgehog with concern, hoping nothing mentally goes wrong.
But all Solid could do was shake his head; he didn't look angry or sad, but rather disappointed in himself, wondering how he deserved something like this after helping his friends. “I really don’t mind about your feelings… But the main thing is that I have to quarantine myself inside; I can’t help you guys while you’re out there.” Leaning against the wall, waiting for the elevator. “I want to help you guys out, I really want to. Though, I guess…”
“I guess we’re down one man.” Sonic continues to uplift the mood as they enter the elevator. “Don’t be too discouraged, Solid. We’ll make things manageable for all of us.” He pats his friend’s back for support, noting the importance of their friendship. “Look at me, I’ve gone through the same stuff that you did!” The Blue Blur gratefully points himself with that same iconic smile on his face. “If I were in your situation, oh my GOD, I would be constantly trying my best to let time fly by! At least you can handle patience, unlike me... I hate being patient.”
“Heh, well, that means more freedom on my part to direct this team!” Knuckles gratefully imagines the moment when Sonic temporarily doesn’t lead the team, feeling better about himself. “For you, Solid, my punches are gonna make these missions easier for you while you chill and do better at betting than your brother...” He angrily mutters and glares at Tricky, forcing the porcupine to back away before he continues to mutter. “Make sure you give my rings back from your brother… alright?”
“Trust us, we’ll do our best to make things better for you. And while you’re stuck in house arrest, maybe one of us can stay put and take care of your well-being, since you’re obviously the main target.” Tails puts a reassuring hand on Solid’s shoulder, hoping his words make the Havener comfortable.
Ding!
After their elevator ride, they casually strolled through the hallway, having casual conversations with each other. Solid is grateful his friends support him, despite the circumstances he’s going through. Sure, he wants to fight alongside them, but something is more important than finishing this mission, even if they’re limited in terms of time. He doesn’t want to break the law, because if he does, it’ll result in a harsher penalty that’ll put him in prison, which he doesn’t want to. Rethinking about his house arrest, there’s something to be proud of.
“And hey, even if that mayor really screwed me up, I’ll use my hammer to progress our missions together. Though, enjoy your sushi eating rather than getting injured every time! Sonic wished he had that treatment when he was always dreaming about chili dogs.” Amy hilariously watches the Blue Blur playfully pouting, seeing him cross his arms, and looking away.
“Aww man! I really forgot about my chili dogs! Maybe being in house arrest isn’t that bad at all… waiting for those online deliveries and seeing those juicy, delicious chili dogs await at the front door. The dream.” Sonic daydreams about his situation with Solid’s, although being attached to the ankle monitor, he has the freedom to do what he wants.
“Heh, now thinking about it, at least someone’s there to take care of the apartment. My brother always does those chores like a maid. It’ll be funny if the place wasn’t cleaned…” Tricky slowly glances at Knuckles with a new level of concern. “We didn’t clean the mess… did we…?”
Knuckles also looks at the porcupine, keeping his composure, but a bit of sweat slowly drips from his face, understanding how bad things will get once the dog opens the door. “Tricky… you are a-“
“Alright, even if my orange furball is now on house arrest, we’ll spend our time here in my precious apartment.” Woofa happily unlocks her door, finding nothing but a mess around the living room. It’s stacks filled with trash, all dedicated to the basketball game that both the porcupine and the echidna decided to bet on. When the team looks at her face, she’s building up her rage, something that alerts Solid. The orange hedgehog immediately pulls back Sonic, Tails, and Amy away from the now enraged dog, knowing what’s going to happen when she lashes out.
“… Tricky… Knuckles… You two… ARE-“
“I swear… You are worse than Sonic…” The echidna angrily mutters at the porcupine, painfully cleaning up the mess while he watches the rest of the team relaxing and hanging out.
“Shut up, Knuckles! You’re worse than my annoying coworkers in a typical workday!” Tricky exclaims, throwing some trash at the echidna. “We’re going to get more disciplined by her if we act like-!””
“HEY, STOP MAKING MY PLACE MESSIER!!!”
