Information Sheet 9: Velari
Name: Velari the 'Crystal Sovereign'
Pokemon Species: Diancie
Mutation: The diamonds growing on her body are in differend shades of blue instead of pink, making her look more like an evolution of a Carbink than her species normally does.
Gender: Female
Age: 267
Height: 0.7 meters
Origin: Velari was born within the Umbral Abyss itself, long before Newleaf Village existed. Her birth came from a small, wandering Carbink colony led by a Mythical Diancie who sought a home free from persecution, conflict, and the constant upheaval of the outside continents. Lord Noctem granted them their wish to settle down within the crater walls and the Carbink colony created their own small kingdom under his protection and Domain.
Ability: Clear Body
Clear Body prevents the Abilityholder from suffering deliberating physical weaknesses from external influences. Attempts to weaken the Abilityholder through manipulative uses of type energy fail to take hold. The reason for that is the Abilityholders unnaturally pure type-energy which subtly purges traces of hostile type energy from the body. The ability cannot be surpressed, but the Abilityholder can counciously strengthen it by some degree.
Personality:
Velari had begun her life as a simple Carbink deep within the Umbral Abyss, born into a hidden colony that followed an elderly Mythical Diancie who had led her people there in search of peace long before Newleaf Village even existed. Under that Diancie’s guidance the colony flourished, and over the decades a handful of Carbink managed to rise all the way to the rank of Mythical, Velari among them. Unfortunately however none of them achieved the rare mutation into a true Diancie. When the Storm Menace invaded the Umbral Abyss and Lord Noctem called every inhabitant to war, the already ancient Mythical Diancie finally fell in battle, leaving the colony leaderless and vulnerable. After the Storm menace was finally defeated Velari was the only Mythical of her colony alive, their last protector, and it was in that desperate aftermath that she achieved the impossible. She transformed into a Diancie, restored the shattered structure of the colony, opened it to all rock-type and fairy-type Pokemon, and over the following decades built a kingdom from the ruins until she herself rose to the status of a Lesser Legendary, the same one that Lord Noctem and the Storm Menace hold. That history shaped her into someone steady and disciplined, a Diancie whose composure was carved by loss and duty rather than pride. She learned early that peace was fragile and survival required strength, so she became a ruler who did not bend under pressure, whose clarity of mind matched her ability, and whose authority came not from entitlement but from carrying her people through catastrophe. Her tone could be stern and her expectations high, yet beneath all of it lived a quiet loyalty to those she protected, a devotion forged in the moment she realized she was the last one left who could.

What Other Characters Say About Her:
Kaen (Arcanine):
"Velari is… reliable in the same way I would call a stone wall reliable. It doesn’t reach out, it doesn’t offer warmth, but it keeps to its place and it does its job. Our dealings with her kingdom are measured, predictable, and that’s more than I can say for most powers in the Umbral Abyss. She protects her territory, we protect ours. There’s no quarrel and no friendship, just a quiet understanding and a mutually beneficial deal. And honestly? That’s enough for me."
Vian (Victini):
"She is clarity forged under pressure, a gem sharpened by burden. Velari rules with a mind untouched by doubt, and that makes her both admirable and terribly lonely. I’ve seen many rise in the Abyss, few remain themselves after the climb. She did. Her light has a steadiness that even the Abyss could not dim. Some would call her cold, I call her someone who learned to stand when everyone else fell. She keeps her kingdom standing through pure discipline, not because she’s the strongest, though she certanly is strong, but because she refuses to let anything slip. I respect her for that. Maybe more than she realizes."
Noah (Raichu):
"When I first met that colony of Carbink, they were haunted by grief, fractured, and angry at pretty much everything. They had been forced into a war they hadn't chosen for themselves and they had suffered greatly for it. When Ray and I returned years later, I saw something entirely different waiting for us. Now Queen Velari stood there, no longer a Mythical Carbink, but a Diancie rebuilding a kingdom stone by stone with the weight of a whole generation on her shoulders. I didn’t need to ask how she got there. It's the same way Ray and I got to where we are, She refused to let others suffer in her stead. No matter what it would cost her. And that kind of resolve… you don’t teach it. You just recognize it when you meet someone who carries it as well. She's worthy. That's all that is to say to her."

Domain: Radiant Aegis
When Velari’s Domain unfolds, the world around her solidifies into brilliance. Light refracts into lattices, sound slows and softens, and the air itself begins to hum with harmonic resonance. Every particle of dust, every droplet of water, every mote of energy aligns into crystalline order. Within the Radiant Aegis, all kinetic and elemental forces are refracted through Velari's will. Attacks that enter her Domain scatter, weaken, or transform, their energy restructured into dazzling crystal growths or prismatic shields. Every movement becomes deliberate, every surge of power forced to obey symmetry.
