On the 2nd break…
At the school’s surveillance room…
The room is stuffed with computers.
The school staff work there to fill administratives and stuff.
There are also monitors provided for security.
Right in front of dozens of screens monitoring the school through live footage, a strong-willed girl searches for the truth.
“Around these?” one of the school staff asked.
He pointed at his computer screen showing a recording taken from the security cameras.
“Yes, at that time before the rain,” Suzu directed.
“Camera 06 and camera 09 negative. Where does she usually wait?”
“The front door I suppose.”
“Then camera 03.”
The staff sped up the footage and yet until the rain there were no sightings of Murazuki Shizu.
“Hmm,” she thought further.
“Are you sure, little lady?” he asked, waiting for more clues.
“Did she happen to mistake the entrances?” Suzu wondered.
Suzu fixed her glasses then spaced out for a bit.
“Is she a clumsy one, that sister of yours?” He suddenly asked.
“I think not, but surely sometimes she makes mistakes.”
(Like usual human behavior.)
“Hah…ehehm,” the staff sighed then cleaned his throat.
After that he checked the other doors footage.
Switched to the back door one.
Suzu realized a glimpse of the sped up.
“Wait, that one just now!”
The staff rewinds then pauses.
He slowly speeds up the footage.
“Around that minute, a bit more,” she directed.
He resumed then quickly paused it.
“This?”
“Yes, that one, that’s definitely her,” she claimed.
“Alright then, we finally got a lead,” he clicked the play button.
The two look closely.
Shizu, who is on the footage, just stands there looking at her phone screen.
Even for a minute or two she didn’t move.
“It’s taking way too long.”
The staff sped it up.
“Hey, wait!”
However, he didn’t listen.
A few more minutes were skipped then finally several shadows were to be seen.
“Wait! Pause that, rewind!”
This time it’s on the correct time stamp.
16:37:23 P.M….
The two witnessed what truly happened that day.
Multiple high school boys approached Shizu.
Suzu’s face frowned.
(My Shii…what’re they doing to her?)
(How dare them to do things like these?!)
After some minutes of talking between the guys.
The leader of the gang approaches Shizu closely.
They’re very close that anything could happen if imaginations are to go wild.
“Ah she ran away, way nice one, girl, ah-“
“Those guys…”
The atmosphere is heavy.
(If anything truly happened.)
(Did they just wipe her memories off?)
(For normal high schoolers to possess such abilities.)
(It’s not possible, any drugs they possibly use?)
(Still why was she inside the house unconscious?)
(The key lock that day was definitely working.)
(They couldn’t just drop her off.)
(The best possible scenario is that she managed to get away from the chase.)
(All of this coming out with no traces is quite intriguing though.)
(Whatever it is I can not just let this pass!)
(The reason Shii never told me is either it’s too severe or she didn’t even remember in the first place.)
The staff can see her turning even frowned.
Inside her eyes it’s all fury and killing.
(I need more proof.)
(I need answers.)
(The truth…)
(I want to know.)
(Everything about Shii on that day!)
The staff rewinded.
“It looks like the uniform from the high school next door.”
Her eyes glared at the staff.
The staff’s reaction showed as if he regret saying this out loud in his life.
Suzu examined the footage even more.
“Cih!” she flicked her tongue, “well sad it has no nametags. If I don’t have enough, then…I will check them personally!”
“…but Murazuki-san, conflicts like these…are not in my vocabulary. We better just inform th-“
“It’s enough, I can deal with them myself. I may look like a middle schooler, a girl, but even an armed man won’t come out unwounded.”
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
“Are you serious about that?”
“Surely, I am no sister if I’m not this brave.”
“If so make sure to avoid any kind of violence and I recommend bringing some backups. Are your friends still around school? Better bring them with you, even better if there are boys.”
“Thanks for the recheck, mister…I will bring them,” she smiles.
“Oh no problem. You got what you wanted, but be wary.”
Suzu walked away.
“I will totally…kill them!”
The smile indeed was fake!
The staff happened to overhear the mumble.
“No more overwork please. Oh god, please no more cases, no more fights, I don’t want any more overworking, please…please be safe, Murazuki-san,” he cried with a dead eye <- (he’s a peace-loving man)
After school…
“Wanna watch horror movies overnight?~”
“Les gooo les gooo!”
“What?! Another confession? From who?”
Quite lively for an after-school classroom.
That time Suzu walked to Shizu’s seat.
“Nee, Shii, can you come with me for a moment?”
Shizu raises her head.
“Ah, now? Sorry, I just got a teacher’s call. Can it be more later? Like after?”
“Well nevermind, just wait for me in front, I’ll catch up. It’s critical, so…bye bye,” Suzu waved then left.
“Critical? Critical hit rates?”
At the high school next door’s front gate.
A group of thugs type of high schoolers have appeared.
They seem to realize the girl who’s waiting at the front gate.
“Hey look, a cutie. Where is she from?”
“That uniform, isn’t it from the middle school next door?”
“Another chance for us?”
“Yesterday was a bummer indeed.”
“Let’s check her out shall we, bro?”
“What if she already has a boyfriend?”
“Then it’s up to boss. NTR is our speciality right?”
“True, only my ol’gramps would say “nooo, those stuffs are just for couples in love” WHO EVEN CARES?!”
The group of boys approached Suzu who seemed to be waiting for someone.
“Hey, girl, who are you waitin’ for?”
“Yo bro, that look isn’t kinda familiar?!”
“I’ve waited…you guys finally came?” Suzu spoke in a heavy tone.
“Hah…? What’s on you girl?!”
“Oh! She’s a fan of ours?!”
“Oi hell bro! Is it true!”
Her face turned even worse.
“Like what I would? I’m here to ask for one thing.”
“Not huh?”
“Yesterday…on the back of our school. What did you do?”
“Huh?!! What are you talking about, girl?!” he’s a bit enraged.
“I said, the girl yesterday, what did you do to her?”
“Ah, bro, did she mean that weird girl from yesterday?”
“Then what?! We’re not here to get some questions, we want some fun, girl!” his tone rose a bit.
“Oi oi, is she here to report us? Did she happen to know about ‘that’?” one of them whispered to the boss’s ear.
He was a bit surprised.
“Fine, yeah we did see her. Is she a friend of yours? Kinda a cutie but sadly yeah.”
After those few seconds, he kinda changed his mind.
“”Sadly?” What did you even do to her?” she clenches her fists.
“Chill chill, we didn’t break her or anything, she’s fine and alive you know. Did she get sick or what? I swear we didn’t do anything.”
“I hereby ask please don’t turn the questions against me.”
“Her polite words are scary bro.”
“Yeah kinda lit.”
The two of them whispered to each other.
“Well…we just approached her, a girl alone on the back at those hours, what can we even hope for, hahah.”
“Hahahah.”
“He’s right, keheheheheh.”
Suzu raged and almost hit him on the face with her knuckles.
At the last moments she stopped though.
“Oi oi, girlie, are there any offensive words we said that hurt you?”
“I apologize for my bad actions, but…the end of the story…tell me every one of it, I ask deeply please.”
“Fair…a guy just hit us up, he’s so cocky and defended her like a hero. Well who knows what happened in the end. Even a classmate can not be trusted, eh? Yeah eh?” he turned to his gang.
They all agreed and some laughed.
“That’s a nice one, boss.”
“So yeah, is our business done by now, little doggie?”
Suzu’s face shines a bit of relief and happiness.
“Do you happen to remember what he looks like?”
“Gentlemen, we have a scary woman over here!”
Once again, he turned to his gangs, they laughed.
“Yeah…he wears glasses, I did hit him quite hard so technically on his cheeks…there should be a-“
“Ah- alright, I deeply apologize for holding you guys up, thanks for sparing your moment with me. Well I will take my leave now,” Suzu bowed and left.
“Oh…that’s a fast one.”
“She got the clue?”
“You’re going to let her go, bro? She’s quite a big catch.”
“You mean her boo-“
“Like an idiot I would! Bystanders gentlemen, bystanders…”
“We’re going home then?”
“Off to the bar we go. I want to play billiards today and possibly cards.”
“How much are we in for?”
“My whole mama’s bank.”
“Oh boy, that’s hella insane!”
“Hell yeah.”
Back on Hoshizora Mid…
The dark hallway…3rd floor…
A boy with glasses was walking in the hallway.
He has a bandage on his cheek.
He’s the average NPC you can see anywhere.
Suddenly, a shadow sneaked in silence spying on him.
The boy doesn’t seem to realize the movement.
The shadow sneaked behind him and aimed at his neck.
“Don’t move,” she whispered.
A pen was pressed onto his neck.
The other hand holds him in front, locking him up.
“One scream or movement, I’ll blow this up,” she threatened.
His heartbeat and breath got heavier.
“That voice…Murazuki-san from the same class? What drama scenario are we playing, a roleplay practice? Kinda too scary for me~”
“Don’t act dumb, I know you got something kept secret from our siblings' relationship.”
“Uhh, that’s quite painful, can you lower the tension a bit?”
“Like what I would? This is the spot right, your carotid artery? One blow and your blood will be out in the wild.”
“Are you sure? The human body is quite variative, one mistake and you’ll be sent to a youth correction facility. Still it’s creepy with all of this. Please stop~”
“I have a family, they’ll kill me first if I do.”
“Such a sharp clan. Ah my bad, really…please let me go. I’m not ready to die!”
“Silence! Acting all good and innocent, answer me, what do you take from my sister?”
“What do you mean b-“
“Hurry up, before anyone sees us!” Suzu said as she glared at the nearest CCTV which is out of their area.
“Not like I took anything from her, Murazuki-san,” he raised both of his hands to the air.
“A lie…? Did you lay a hand on her body? Did you drop her off by our house? How do you know our address? What are you to her? Why are you not showing in the CCTV footage?”
“I’m innocent, it’s the truth. I happened to see her yesterday after school. I just fend those guys away from her. The rest…why not ask her by yourself?”
“Liar! Spill the beans, what did you use to wipe her memories clean?”
“It was nothing…after I saved her, she went back home. That’s all…please believe!”
(I sense no lie.)
(The sweat…the heartbeat…)
(It’s all natural.)
(Or turns out to be a big liar?)
“Fine you can go…,” she finally released him.
“Wait what? Really?”
“Yeah~”
“Hah…,” he sighed, “even for me, that's a fearful experience to be stabbed from behind heheh.”
“Don’t tell anyone…if you dare…,” once again she threatened.
“I know, I know,” he slowly got away from her.
Then he turned to his back and gazed at her.
“An honor student like you doing these…I’m terribly petrified.”
“Did you fall for my sister?”
“Huh?” his mind froze.
His feet stopped.
“I find the doubt in your mind disturbing. Suspicious~”
“Honestly…nope. Why ask this?”
“Is she attractive to you?”
“It would be a lie if I say no.”
“Okay, good, you’re acquitted.”
“Really?”
“Just stay away from her if you don’t want any holes in your neck.”
“Creepy…scary…”
“Also keep your imaginations away. I don’t want any of those neurons inside you to lay eyes on her!”
“Roger boss, so…can I leave now?”
“Sure.”
“Oh kay,” he turned on her back then left.
On his way, the girl stops him, grabbing his collar.
“What?”
“Thanks…thank you very much…for saving my sister,” she said in a flat tone.
“Oh…anytime…,” he smiles.
Not long on the front gate…
“Onee-chan, took you so long,” Shizu pouted.
“Sorry, I was out for a bit then got back to pick something. Are you alright, Shii?”
“Yeah, my battery is almost dead though.”
“Pft, a funny one aren’t you?”
“Better than bad words?”
“For sure.”
(In the end I was forced to use my trust.)
(There were some missing points.)
(Even if I found the clue…)
(The boy who’s on a bandage.)
(One of them is one of my classmates.)
(I decided to check him and it turns out I caught the right person.)
(Behind it, one mysterious case…the fight between them…weren’t shown on camera.)
(I have my own reasons to stop my track.)
(People said that I’m bad at expressing my emotions.)
(My face just mostly looks flat.)
(However that doesn’t mean that I can’t feel it.)
(Also I do express those emotions…even without showing much on the face.)
(Even more they said…)
(…when it’s about my sister…I do tend to turn like a psycho and ruthless.)
(Well I can feel it myself…the monster which is me.)
(Even so…)
(Having trust…is also what makes me a human.)
(As a human sister, I need to stay conscious of my own limits.)
(I may not know how normies act, but I’m her one and only.)
(I should start by understanding her emotions first.”
…
Moving to the POV of her sister
