As everyone poured into the dinning room, Themba didn’t like the other technocrats at all. He didn’t seem to trust them fearing some of them held government secrets. He kept mostly to himself and to his creation Brun whom he sat next to. Brun did his best trying to behave but he couldn’t help but to scan the gossip on what the technocrats were saying.

  “I say Hank, how’s that secret project of yours coming along?” asked Ming.

  Ming and Ning enjoyed the gossip, they wanted every juicy information that Hank had to deliver for his secret project. Hank knew better but couldn’t help to be overcome with the atmosphere around him.

  “Well, if you must know all I can say is that it’s top secret on nano technology” said Hank.

  Hank did his best not to reveal anything – Ming and Ning behaved more like sisters so willing to try to get Hank to talk.

  “Come on Hank, you can speak your mind here” said Ning.

  “Yes, yes, please” added Ming.

  Hank did his best trying to stay silent, but then he knew the nano technology could assist Captain Valorion.

  “I would have to discuss matter with Captain Valorion himself” said Hank.

  The captain glanced over at Hank.

  “You may speak of the project” whispered Captain Valorion.

  The captain could tell that Ming and Ning were up to something. From the looks of it, they could be puddling the technology information to the mainland government of China. Hank knew it was best to give them some sort of false information the project.

  “Actually I would love to tell on our latest project” laughed Hank.

  Hank did his best trying to come up with a fake scientific breakthrough – nano technology would be inserted into human DNA. Hank’s false story was hopeful enough to brighten Ming and Ning which drew ire from Nyra. Nyra didn’t like the fact that Captain Valorion was purposely trying to get the two women in trouble.

  “As usual he’s siding with Hank” sighed Nyra in her thoughts.

  Nyra knew she would have to warn the women about the false information they were going to buy in. It would be a grave irresponsibility on their part if they thought it was the truth. Tyler arrived with the first set of meals – Kade assisted Tyler.

  “Why didn’t you make these meals?” asked Captain Valorion to Kade.

  “I told you, my powers can’t handle this kind of pressure” replied Kade, “it burnt every meal.”

  Kade was telling the truth, Tyler did his best trying to stay out of it. As Tyler and Kade continued to serve everyone their meals – it was time for them to sit down and eat. Whisperblade did her best not to get involved with Nyra’s inner politics against Captain Valorion. She wanted to stay out of trouble as best as possible.

  “This is delicious” said Themba.

  “Thank you” said Ty.

  Tyler was grateful that somebody appreciated his cooking, Kade scarfed down a few pieces of steak.

  “Yea, I guess it’s okay” added Kade.

  Tensions would continue to boil over for the next meal to arrive.
