CHAPTER 135
Narrator: Arriving at the dining hall, Dav peeked over the counter and saw Iris kneading dough, shaping it into circles with flour everywhere, and Selene helping her by chopping who-knows-what.
Iris turned and saw him with his usual curious expression, hungry and searching for food.
Iris made a small grimace at him, as if to say:
"It’s not ready yet, go away!"
Dav chuckled softly and stepped aside, sitting at his usual spot.
He waited patiently, closing his eyes and thinking.
"Today Lexia is coming... let’s hope it goes as well as last time.
The problem is her mana if the control lasts too long…"
He sighed, hungry, eyes still closed.
After a few minutes, he opened one eye and saw Iris and Selene in front of him with a slice of pizza and some cold tea.
Dav, surprised, looked at them and smiled.
"How would I manage without you two? You’re amazing..."
He ate that small slice of pizza, happy, looking at their satisfied smiles.
Iris looked at him, leaning on the table, sitting across from him.
"The pizza will be ready soon and served.
Just wait another twenty minutes so it can cool a little."
Dav, happy and surprised, exclaimed:
"Oh!? Pizza! Now that’s good news!
This little piece is really good, well done."
Selene poured him the tea and said:
"I hope you’ll like it.
Madam Margherita helped us make many with her recipe."
He gave them both his usual soft smile and kept eating the small piece of pizza, ready to enjoy his cold tea.
They both returned to the kitchen, giggling and getting along very well.

Meanwhile, Kael, Eldrin, Rafael, Evelyn, and Lucrezia also arrived.
Dav greeted everyone and told them they were in for a good meal today.

Dav: (Looking at Rafael) My sister’s coming again for some training in the arena with me, Eldrin, and Kael-
(Thinking) Evelyn’s face says a lot, ahaha.
Evelyn: (Looking at Kael) Oh!? I didn’t know.
Kael: (Sweating) Dav told me yesterday... and I forgot to tell you.
(Looking at Dav, thinking) Why’d you have to say it!?
Dav: (Looking at Kael, thinking) What else was I supposed to do?! Rafael asked!
Eldrin: (Laughing) Get ready for another wave of aura! AHAHA!
Narrator: Iris and Selene arrived with long trays full of pizzas.
One with mozzarella, French fries, tomato, and basil.
Another with eggplant, salted ricotta, and tomato: a true pizza alla norma.
Dav was happy, looking at Iris and Selene with gratitude at those beautiful, steaming but not too hot pizzas.
Selene: (Curious) Sorry to ask... but isn’t Valeria usually with us?
Dav: (Looking at the pizza) She’s busy today with the director for some private matters, so she won’t be joining us.
Selene: (Lifting a corner of her lip) I see.
Narrator: Selene took the opportunity to sit next to him, in Valeria’s usual spot, with a serious look... but deep down, she was overjoyed.
Iris noticed it, as did the others, but no one gave it much thought and they all began to eat.
Iris arranged Dav’s plate, sitting by his side.
She loved taking care of him, and every little gesture made her happy.
Meanwhile, they pressed their legs together under the table to feel even closer, an initiative from Iris.
Dav: (Chewing) The younger students seem to have stayed in their rooms, like every weekend.
Rafael: (Cutting the pizza) Well, they’re just kids...
they’d rather be together, in a more intimate setting, spending time with each other.
(Sighing) Ah, youth..
Evelyn: (Funny face) You’re making me feel old..
Rafael: (Touching his hair) Because you are.
Evelyn: (Grabbing the knife) Say that again! I’ll slice you like sushi!
Eldrin: (Laughing) AHAHAH!
If only I could go back to my golden years and enjoy youth again!
