CHAPTER - 137 [Memories and Ideas]

  CHAPTER - 137

Narrator: Lexia was puzzled by what he said and tried to figure out if he had lost his mind ten years ago along with his smile.

  "I see.

  And how are you?"

Dav looked at Lexia and touched his neck:

"Like someone who came from the past and is slowly trying to understand these past ten years."

Lexia, gazing at the shadows and her memories, continued to speak.

"You must’ve met many good people.

Kael, Eldrin, they’re very nice. I’m sure everyone else, including the students, are fantastic people."

Dav smiled, lifting his lip just slightly, and said:

  "Yeah, they’re good people."

Lexia, by pure chance, looked to her right and saw a memory that drew her in.

She walked toward it and touched it.

Dav noticed Lexia moving away from him and heading toward the memory.

  He shouted, running after her:

  "Lexia, wait, don’t touch it!"

When Lexia touched it, she found herself inside that memory.

Though it was just a memory, it was very vivid and detailed.

In the memory, Lexia saw her younger self holding Dav’s hand as they walked to school together.

Dav kept saying as he held her hand:

"If anyone bothers you, tell me! I’ll take care of it."

  Lexia smiled as she watched.

The scene changed; this time, they were sitting on their parents’ bed, with Dav eating chips and little Lexia asking for some.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"You could choke on these, you’re still too little."

Said young Dav, looking at little Lexia begging for those chips.

"Let’s do this, I’ll give you small pieces, but chew well and don’t eat fast, got it?"

Little Lexia smiled and ate the chips bit by bit as her big brother broke them up for her.

Lexia approached the young Dav and touched his cheek, her hand passing through his face since he was only a memory.

  Dav saw her and said:

"Lexia, they’re just memories, they can’t possibly see you-"

Little Lexia turned and looked in the direction of the older Dav, seemingly trying to speak to the older Lexia.

Dav was surprised and smiled at the little Lexia.

  "Coincidence, I guess?"

Dav thought while watching little Lexia stare at him for a few seconds before turning back.

Maybe it was just coincidence that little Lexia looked in the direction of the older Dav… or maybe not?

Older Lexia knelt down and whispered in little Lexia’s ear:

"Take care of your big brother.

  He’s a hero! our hero!."

She stood up and returned with Dav, leaving the memory.

  "I didn’t remember that one...

Thanks to you, I got to eat chips at a young age, secretly from our parents...

  Thanks, big brother."

She smiled and hugged him, holding onto his arm.

  "You’re clingy."

Said Dav, making a silly face as he looked at Lexia.

"For once I’m being honest with you! You clearly don’t love me anymore…

Anyway, it’s time to get out… My mana’s running low."

Dav nodded, they exited, and the mind control broke, waking them up.

Kael, who was playing cards with Eldrin, turned and saw Dav and Lexia waking up.

Kael: (Curious) How did it go? Did you find anything or figure out the problem?

Lexia: (Tired) We can’t keep going for long... My mana drains very fast using my ability for too much time.

(Happy) But it was nice, and I got to relive some things I’d forgotten.

Dav: (Standing up) You can go home.

We’ll continue next week, I have stuff to do tomorrow and probably Monday too.

Eldrin: (Listening) Ah... Tomorrow’s Sunday, if I’m not wrong you’re supposed to help Iris, right?

Dav: (Thinking) Crap, I forgot about Iris! I wanted to focus on forging...

I’ll have to take care of that on Monday.

(Looking at Eldrin with a silly face) Exactly, Master Eldrin.

Eldrin: (Surprised) Ah… Of course, you already knew that...

(Thinking) Why does it feel like he forgot and actually wanted to do something else instead...?

Lexia: (Waving goodbye) Alright, I’m off.

Almost two hours of travel ahead.

Kael: (Smiling) Let me walk with her to the exit.

  Lexia: (Winking) Thanks, sweet Kael.

  Kael: (Blushing) It’s nothing!

  Dav: (Sighing) What a chicken...

(Looking at Eldrin) By the way, Eldrin, do you know anything about forging?

I read a book with the basics and I want to try creating something.

  Eldrin: (Thinking aloud) Forging, huh?...

I remember some time ago I tried to buy a weapon from a blacksmith, one of those easy-to-find types but he asked for a lot of money and materials.

Still, it was interesting to watch him.

He’d heat up his furnace to a very high temperature, then stretch the iron with hammer blows when the blade was nice and hot.

It’s all about materials and tools, I think.

Dav: (Interested) Next week I want to experiment with something and leave the class to Kael while I go to the arena.

Eldrin: (Curious) How will you do that without a furnace?

Dav: (Confident, silly face) Leave it to me.

  Eldrin: (Doubtful) Ah… Okay.

I’ll come too, to help out and give you some advice on what I know.
