Yvlena faced each of her summons with a serious expression. She placed her hands on her hips and wondered how she was going to proceed with her tasks of clearing the lake. Sure she had the potions brewed, but it was probably still going to be a tough fight.
Something abominable dwelt in the lake, and Yvlena didn’t know if she was strong enough to take it on. She had done her best against the creatures she had fought so far, but… would it be enough this time?
‘Well, no use worrying about it now.’ She said thought with a sigh. She looked over the summons who were in various stages of idling. The game probably gave them that bit of code so they wouldn’t wonder why their summoner was standing there staring off into space.
“Let’s go.” Yvlena said, at her words, the summons snapped to attention with Kuti walking over to be picked up and rested on Yvlena’s shoulders, which she obliged. Her ability to weaken or paralyze the boss would be dire.
Yvlena found herself at the starting path of the Verdant woods, only it was different. If she hadn’t memorized the roads by now, she would have thought she had ended up in a denser part of the Bloom Forest.
Where the Verdant Woods had once been brimming with miasma, there were no traces of it at the entrance. Grass grew freely under her boots, now a vibrant green with hints of wild flowers in between.
Yvlena plucked a few ingredients from the clusters of flowers growing nearby and smiled.

“I guess these are some of the rare herbs Risel was talking about getting. I know Luna Orchid is rare because of the Adiri specs.” Yvlena said, tucking the herbs into her inventory.
If nothing else, Moon Valley certainly had a way of letting the player know they had made a lot of progress. Yvlena got to look at her handiwork, whether she was in Bloom Haven or not.
“The forest is so healthy now.” Sprite commented as she flitted around the area while Yvlena and her summons walked down the path to the Verdant Lake.

“I know, the miasma’s influence is weakening,” Yvlena said. She wondered if defeating Kazat had anything to do with it. Did Miasmic creatures also affect the levels of Miasma in the area? That would be interesting.
If there were any in the Spider Forest on her way to the Verdant Vale then clearing that up before confronting the blockage on the path would make her job easier. She took a deep breath and crossed the path into the clearing where the Verdant Lake was waiting for her.
----------
The dark pool twisted her gut at the sight of it, as Yvlena peered into the lake’s water, she felt the presence of something beneath the surface of the murky pool. The creature was waiting for her to make a move.
“It’s been a long time coming actually.” She said, taking the two potions from her inventory. Without hesitation, she took the regular purifying elixir and dumped the contents of the bottle into the lake, watching the shimmering green disappear into the darkness of the lake.
She and her summons waited a moment, but before she could uncork the other bottle, Sprite yelled.
“Yvlena, watch out!”
A blast of water shot out of the lake and headed for Yvlena, who jumped back to avoid it. The water bullet crashed unto the surface of the lake bed, staining it an oily black that eventually faded away.
Forcing her eyes back to the lake, Yvlena saw the lidless eyes of a fish staring. Its whiskers reached for her but could not grab her from such a distance.
Seeing its efforts were futile, the fish’s head dove beneath the water, waiting to catch her off guard again. Yvlena gulped, knowing if it had caught her, she would have been pulled under the miasma corrupted lake.
That’s why the game told her she had to drive it out first.
‘It’s a good thing I brewed the elixir with the Ever Bloom extract, when ever it comes to taking care of the miasma, it’s probably best to just assume the Ever Bloom would help.’ the elven girl thought, mentally patting herself on the back for her foresight.
‘I wonder what will happen if I put it in Bavga’s balm?’
Yvlena disregarded the thoughts of more work and got to work cautiously, taking steps near the lake bed. She looked over and, seeing no sign of the fish creature, uncorked the bottle of her stronger Purifying Elixir.
“Here goes.” she said, pouring the liquid into the lake again. Yvlena jumped back, waiting for any sign the creature would shoot a projectile at her.
The party paused and watched as the lake reacted to the power of the Ever Bloom infused elixir. It began with soft ripples, spreading across the large, polluted expanse of the lake.
As Yvlena listened, she could hear water sloshing about like something underwater was fighting hard, it sounded like fins beating against the current of water.
The edge of the lake began changing, clearing out with each ripple. The darkness of the water was being swept away, concentrating towards the center of the lake.
“It’s working.” Yvlena whispered. She and her summons watched as the polluted water bled into a clearer body of liquid more fitting for a lake. It maintained a pale greenish hue, for which Yvlena assumed it was named the Verdant Lake.
The black sludge crawled onward, reaching the middle of the lake, and finally it shot up into the sky as she had seen Miasma possessed entities do before. The darkness swelled in the sky for a moment before disappearing completely, leaving only the clear blue sky and the beautiful lake beneath it.
“Talk about a job well done!” Yvlena said in relief, for a moment, she thought she might have brewed the potion wrong, but now her work with the lake was finally done.
A wet flop caught her attention, and Yvlena turned her gaze once again towards the lake. A humanoid hand reached out, but it wasn’t like anything she had ever seen. It reminded her a bit of Kazat.
The webbed hand pulled something towards the lake bed, and soon the enormous head of the fish she had seen before under the water, followed.
Now she could see the creature plaguing the lake as it pulled its whole body up.
Standing before her was a fish as large as the Field Mouse Sentinel, an enormous oily body heaved itself unto land with large webbed hands and an equally sized pair of limp legs behind it.
“What the hell is that thing?!” Yvlena said in alarm, pulling her sickle out from her side as she stared in horror at the Miasmic entity that had been dwelling within the lake so far.
The massive fish took several gulps of air before focusing its eyes on Yvlena, who was already gearing up to fight.
