With a little saunter, Marissa approached the dyad with a concerned look on her face. It was only after she witnessed Nerice stop Ruby’s hand from reaching the handle of her vampiric dagger that Marissa started to tread lightly. “No need for that, my loving sister.” Marissa waved her hand peacefully, and tried to ease the situation brewing. “I just want to hear your side of the story. Kaini said she expressed her feelings to you…about you…and you didn’t take kindly to it.”

  “Truth?” Ruby half-growled, “She said outright that I made a mistake picking Nerice.” Ruby clenched her fists when she saw Kaini drop her head once more. “See, look. She didn’t even tell you the full truth.” Ruby patted Nerice’s hand. “Nerice had nothing but compassion for the whole thing, accepted her apology and insisted we say goodbye to you all before we left.”

  Spinning on her heels, Marissa questioned Kaini. “Is this the truth, sister?”

  Tears streamed down Kaini’s face and nded on the ground like little pearls bouncing all over the pce. Unable to speak through the emotional turmoil, It was Ingemara who spoke for the couple. “What Tanya says is the truth. It appears Kaini and I have a bunch to discuss in the coming days.” She looked at the furious Ruby, “Tanya, my dear sister.” Ingemara csped her hands together, “Please, from both of us…Don’t judge Kaini too harshly. She just loves indulging in her emotions rather than the excellent mind she has.” Ingemara blew Ruby a kiss. “Remember, you are our most…desired, and she did pull you out of the water.” Ingemara then smiled. “Where you proceeded to flirt with my lovely dymate mercilessly, so I see why she was confused.”

  Marissa pced her hand over her mouth while she lightly ughed and after a couple of minutes cleared her throat and spoke up. “So not as bad as it seemed. That is good to know and feel.” Marissa walked over to Kaini and gave her a big hug. “Tanya doesn’t know you as well as the rest of us do, you marvelous ball of love.” Marissa cooed lightly when Kaini gently kissed her cheek, and then faced Ruby. “Tanya, I would have protected my dymate in the same manner I do believe.”

  “Thanks.” Ruby muttered as she watched the scene unfold around her. “All the same, we wanted to tell you all goodbye for now. Hearing her lover quietly squeak with joy in her ear, Ruby id her head against Nerice’s. “We are headed west, the path to the new world as I have heard it called.”

  “Beautiful isnds out there.” Talisea spoke up and pulled Marissa into her arms. “Come on, let Ingemara take over..You have me to dote on.”

  Squiggling her way free of Ruby’s frame, Nerice ran over and gave all of her sisters a sting hug and kiss. “We will be back soon enough, You all keep practicing what I have taught you.” Pivoting on her heels to face Ruby, Nerice smiled. “Shall we go?”

  “If you please.” Ruby smiled and purred.

  With a heavy swish of her tail Ruby propelled herself through the depths of the Atntic Ocean, and the rush of water flowing over her hydrodynamic form confirmed in her mind that she and Nerice were going leagues faster than any ship. With the help of Nerice and her clicking to ascertain where they were, the two made it into the currents that carried them with little effort across the expanse that would take a ship months to accomplish.
