Taras's House
Four days ter, Kalira mastered the control of her horn, while Okays continued training to manage his strength. However, he had no idea how to master his other ability, "Bloodout."
Okays: Tawarens, do you know anything about how to use this ability?
Tawarens: Hmm, I don't know much about how to control it, but all I know is that this ability requires strong will and a steady mind to control it.
Okays: Is there anything else?
Tawarens: Hmm, I really don’t have many details about how to use it. All I can say is that you need to discover how to control it by yourself.
Okays: (sighs) Well, I really don’t know, but I won’t give up, and I’ll find a way one day.
While they were talking, Kalira approached.
Kalira: Is there anything fun you’re talking about, guys?
Okays: Oh, hi Kalira! How was your training with your grandfather?
Kalira: Yes, I mastered it! Do you want me to show you?
Okays: Of course!
Tawarens: Yes, hurry up! I’m tired of looking at your face covered by that horn.
Kalira: Well, I’ve decided to eat that bird when I get hungry next time.
Tawarens: I was just kidding!
Kalira began to focus, and her horn started to shrink until it became much smaller than before.
Okays: (astonished) You look beautiful without your horn.
Kalira: (embarrassed) Well, that’s for sure; I’m beautiful in every way.
While they were talking, Taras arrived.
Taras: Yes, you look extremely beautiful.
Okays: Well, Kalira, are you ready to leave?
Kalira: (excited) Yes, absolutely!
Taras: (frowning) So, it’s time to say goodbye then.
Kalira: Don’t worry, Grandpa. I’ll try to live my life to the fullest, and I’ll come back one day to tell you what happened there and what we found.
Taras: Look at yourself, my granddaughter, how much you’ve grown! Well then, let me prepare some supplies for your journey.
Taras went to get a bag filled with food, water, and some essential items for the adventure. Then he approached Okays, pced his hands on his shoulders, and said:
Taras: I hope you take care of Kalira.
Okays: I promise, I won’t let anything happen to her.
Taras: She’s a bit stubborn, but she’s a good girl. I’m sure you two will get along well.
Okays: Don’t worry too much about Kalira; I’ll take care of her. Alright, I’ll get ready to leave now.
Okays and Kalira donned their shawls and masks, took their bags, and prepared to set off.
At the front of the house:
Taras: (worried and frowning) Be careful on your way; try to avoid trouble. And also, Kalira, try to get along with Okays well.
Kalira: Don’t worry, Grandpa; we’ll be fine.
Okays: (smiling) Well, it’s goodbye, Taras. You’ve done so much for me.
Kalira approached her grandfather and hugged him, then they left.
The beginning of their journey was to reach the walls, which were two days' walk from the city. However, their journey only took one day thanks to Tawarens and his flying ability. They arrived at the massive walls, which were rger than they had expected. They descended and looked up at them.
Tawarens' voice inside Okays's head:
"Are you both ready to go up? Or do you want to rest today? The sun will set soon anyway."
Okays: Alright, we’ll set off tomorrow. We need to prepare for the battle on the walls anyway.
Kalira: Yes, let’s stay here for today, and we’ll go at sunrise. We don’t know what awaits us up there.
The sun rose, and Okays and Kalira woke up.
Okays: Good morning, Kalira.
Kalira: (yawning) Good morning.
Tawarens: Are you both awake?
Okays: Yes, should we move now?
Kalira: Yes, but before we go, let’s eat something. After all, this will be our st breakfast inside these walls.
Okays: Alright, let’s eat.
They ate from the food Taras had packed in their bag and prepared to leave. They climbed onto Tawarens’s back, holding onto his feathers, and began to ascend.
