The blinding light eased up and Atlas sight returned to him, he rubbed his eyes to try to get ride of the white blotches he could now see, Forge seemed to be fine but still dropped off Atlas shoulders and backed up from the door
"It hurts to get near the door" said Forge
Nelious clinked his spirit tongue at Forge
"Baby needs a bottle" Nelious moved forward with purpose "don't worry, daddy's here", Nelious was being smug and childish towards Forge due to his own weakness of the last battle he wanted to prove him self and bring down Forges a notch or two even though he forgot that Forge couldn't hear or see him, Nelious floated closer and closer to the door in till his face slapped on an a invisible barrier and squashed one side of his face in to a pancake
"ftuk if thufs", Nelious moved back from the door "fuck is this"
At this time Atlas could see with out black pitches in his eye sight, he was still next to the door but there was no pain that Forge mentioned or the invisible barrier stopping Nelious, the door Atlas was at still had the red magical aura swirling around it, he looked at Forge and Nelious, both were rubbing parts of them self
"Stay here and look after each other" said Atlas
Forge looked confused because he didn't know where to begin with looking after Nelious as he was a spirit, when Atlas said to look after each other it was pointed at Nelious and the little dig he tried to take at Forges sake
Tec Mage Chapter Nineteen: A Student, A Teacher And A Master
Atlas reached out for the door handle and raised his spear/staff to block the potential blinding light, turning the handle and opening the door a stale dry air that smelled like old books hit his face, before he even walked in to the new room Atlas could see how much stuff was in side
"Ding"
The room was a huge circle but the walls were perfectly lined with book shelf's and jars filled with ingredients, the shelf's were as high as the ceiling and full, in the centre of the room were tables with different tools and equipment on each one, at the back of the room was a long thick oak table with a plush chair and beside that up some stairs were living quarters
Atlas moved to the outer side of the room and brushed his hand against the books, randomly he looked closely at the books
Atlas assumed he was passing the part of the books that had metals, ore and gems, he checked the shelfs again when he got closer to oak table
Atlas had finally got to the big oak table, on the table was a single book, ink well, lamp and a red orb with a metal claw attached to the orb, Atlas reached out for the plush chair to turn it around so he could sit down, as he turned the chair some thing fell out, looking on the floor where the thing had dropped Atlas found rags, bones and dust in a pile, it was a person and by how much of him was left it must have been there for many years
Atlas brushed the dirt and dust of the chair in to the pile that was on the floor, he sat him self at the chair and pulled him self to the table, he went to pick up the book on the table and brushed the lamp on the table, the light brightened up, the lamp was made from moon stone and any little energy applied to the stone was converted in to light
The book on the table was thick and bound by dark red leather on the front was a title
Atlas turned the first page
Atlas skipped ahead
Atlas got board and skipped a 100 pages forward
A few more pages were flipped over by Atlas
Atlas scanned the page
Atlas turned some more pages without reading
This explained the reaction Atlas got from the Enchanters guild when he was taught there, all of them were arrogant and at the end of Atlas training he got the impression that they were going to kill him
Atlas skipped to the end to see how it ended
"Ding"
Atlas was in the middle of reading and so he paid the message no attention
Atlas placed the dairy back down on the table and checked the pile of bones, dust and scrapes of robes that had survived
"Identify" said Atlas
Atlas went to one of the tables that was in the centre of the room and placed he's bags on top of the table, he removed planks, tools and nails from the bag and made a simple wooden box, he place the remains of Dr Alberich in the box, all except the tattered ruined robe, both the box with Dr Alberich and the robes were placed in his bag
Atlas returned back to the desk, he's thoughts wondered to how convenient it was that he had Alchemy and Enchanting skills but no master and had no plans to go looking for them, perhaps the game realized this and made a new situation for him to continue learning and advancing his skills, the desk that he was at had many different draws but only one was unlocked, in it was two thick books, one looked like a normal book and the other had magical energy in it, he assumed that the non magical one was for Alchemy and the magical one was for Enchanting and had an enchantment on it
Atlas tried to opened the enchantment book but was unable to, Atlas recalled that Dr Alberich had put tests on it to help with his enchantment skills, placing his hand over the book Atlas remove the enchantment on the book and place it on to the lamp
"Ding"
Atlas opened the book
Atlas knew the technique of Enchantment displacement but never had the skill, he did what the book asked of him
"Learn" said Atlas
The next couple of pages seemed to instruct how enchanting works and the 7 laws of enchantment which Atlas knew already, there was a list of equipment that an a enchanter needed and Atlas found them on one of the tables in the centre of the room, he placed them in his bag, Atlas closed the enchanting training book and opened the Alchemy one, the first page had a simple line of ingredients and a way to prepare it
Atlas grab some chalk and acid from his bag and left the oak table, he was searching for a herb in the many jars on the wall, seeds, herbs, weeds and all types of different things were in the jars but Atlas was looking for a herb called Lady's Mantel, when he found the yellow flora, green herb he took a leaf from the jar and start to crush the chalk and mix a small amount of the acid, the herb was lightly bruised and water was added, the by product was a green liquid that smelled of bleach, he added it with the acid solution
Atlas whipped the Alchemy training page lightly with a clean rag and the new solution, a few moments went by before the words appeared
Congratulations on mixing the correct solution to bring up the invisible ink in this page, further concoctions will be more difficult and need better more delicate equipment but in till then here are the skills needed to start your training, place your hand on the page and say learn
Atlas did so "Learn"
There didn't seem to be any offensive skills in Alchemy but Atlas reasoned that the potions them self could be used to attack, with that in his mind Atlas packed the two books away to read and discover their secrets later, before leaving Atlas check the two place he hadn't been to yet, the first was a cellar that had extra supply's such as seeds and herbs, they were packed in draws and chests but the containers had a special enchantment that Atlas couldn't destroy, identify or displace
Atlas left the cellar, the ingredients were too high level for him and he hadn't learnt enough about the herbs he could use, now the only place that Atlas hadn't gone was the living quarters of Dr Alberich, the living quarters was a small room with a straw bed in the corner, a table with a light next to the bed, a chest at the foot of the bed and a wardrobe, Atlas checked the wardrobe but couldn't open it due to an enchantment that was well above he's head at the moment.
Atlas opened the chest next, no enchantment was on it and when Atlas opened the chest he found a note
Atlas flipped the note over and pulled out the item that was covered with cloth, unwrapping it he found a belt that had a metal gold looking lion on the front of the belt and a orange metal tiger on the back it also had a leather harnesses that went over his shoulders and under his legs
"Identify" said Atlas
Atlas put on the Biting belt and tighten the straps, he wanted to test the belt out but thought better of it because of all the breakable objects around him, now that Atlas had looked all over the lab he packed some items away and looked at his message
Atlas didn't understand, he checked the messages
Atlas understood now, a great beast skill could be learnt by learning a lot about the species that held one of the skills
"Yes i want to learn the skill Water Breathing Of The Blind Fish" said Atlas
"Ding"
The skill was good but just like his other Great Beast Skill there was a negative side to it, "oh well some thing is better than nothing" said Atlas
Atlas left the lab safe in the knowledge that only he knew where it was and possibly only he could enter, when he was out side of the lab he buried the box with Dr Alberich remains near the door he had to do this out side of the lab because it was enchanted stopping him from harming the room, he cut some moonstone from the cave walls to make a tombstone
"Ding"
