John pinched his finger and shot out blood onto the ground, a new body formed. It was foundation establishment!

  But wait... there was a huge issue. It lacked both a spiritual sense and a soul field. Those were like the main two perks of being foundation establishment.

  "I suppose since it hasn't gone through tribulation, it is quite lacking."

  There was also another issue. It's meridians were almost empty. John's immortality wasn't able to refill his Qi. But luckily, with every breath it took, it was gathering Qi.

  The next thing John tested was his spiritual sense.

  It seemed to have a radius of ten meters.

  It gave him a sort of 360 degree vision.

  He tried transferring his soul field to the other body. But it was firmly tied to this body.

  "Well, the value of this body has indeed increased."

  John wanted to test breaking another body into foundation establishment.

  But he knew that he would need pills and food in order for the other body to have enough Qi to form a dao pillar. So he put this test in the back of his mind.

  John vanished in an instant. Appearing in front of the other body. He sent out a punch. In this punch he had imbued Qi directly from his dao pillar.

  The explosiveness was on an entirely different level then using raw Qi at Qi Condensation.

  The other body didn't have much Qi to try to counteract the force. It held out its hand trying to catch the fist. It was sent flying through multiple trees.

  John looked at his hands in shock.

  "Now this is power!"

  If before his punches were 20,000 newtons of force at 100% of his strength. Now his punches were a hundred times that, probably far more. He could punch with a over a 1000 tons of force. Now a normal foundation establishment cultivator's bones would of shattered from using Qi this way.

  But John's bones were fairy grade! They were extremely tough, and only had a few cracks from the punch which he could instantly heal.

  You would think the other body would of became paste taking on such a heavy attack. But you must remember, he made this body in his image. It also had diamond grade skin, and fairy bones.

  Although its organs had turned into mush.

  It coughed up blood as it stood up.

  It then rushed at John, throwing its own punch.

  But without the imbuement of Qi, it was like a light tap.

  John ate the punch like it was nothing, and started to attack hundreds of times. But the other body didn't just let itself get destroyed, it healed using its immortality and fought back valiantly.

  John noticed right away the disadvantages of not having a soul field.

  Without a soul field, you were unable to use the new Qi that was stored in the dao pillar.

  Over the course of the fight, the other body did refine some Qi from the meridian in the lungs.

  But it's use of Qi was exactly the same as a Qi Condensation cultivator. It also fought with 100% of its strength. But its punches at most reached 50,000 newtons of force.

  Why was that?

  It was the difference between realms! The Qi stored in the dao pillar had undergone a qualitative change. It was a hundred times more explosive then raw Qi stored in the meridians.

  So John realized that he had failed.

  Although he made a 'foundation establishment' body. It was essentially just a slightly stronger Qi Condensation cultivator.

  This meant it was useless.

  He couldn't even make an army of them to make them useful as they would require food and pills to build up Qi.

  John used 'Reckless Abandon'.

  He lost the connection with that body as it burst into flames and disintegrated.

  He sighed.

  The next thing he tested was concealing his cultivation. You see, cultivators had a spiritual sense that allowed them to look at other peoples cultivation just like a body sense. They could see the location of the dantian and meridians. They could even make out which were unblocked. So if they saw someone only 6 meridians unblocked. They would assume they were at the 6th level of Qi Condensation.

  But having a dantian and meridians didn't mean you were a cultivator by itself.

  This obviously didn't work to identify higher leveled cultivators.

  People couldn't look into your dantian.

  So how did they tell what level you were at? They could tell from your breath.

  Not that breath! The breath of Qi leaking off of your body.

  Remember how in foundation establishment, you gain access to far more explosive Qi?

  Well, that Qi is from your dao pillar. This leaks into the environment and is like a bright light to someone's spiritual sense. They can instantly tell from the dense nature and explosive characteristic that you are at foundation establishment.

  So John's cultivation is already partially concealed. Since he has no Qi leaking out of his pillar. People will assume he is at Qi Condensation or is concealing his breath.

  But there is also a way to conceal your meridians and dantian and appear as a mortal to someone's spiritual sense.

  The key to doing this was to keep them empty when they are not in use. You might think that is stupid since they serve as storage and pathways of Qi. But that changes when you reach foundation establishment. The Qi in your meridians is weak. So it becomes much harder for someone in Qi Condensation to conceal their cultivation. Since by keeping their meridians empty, they literally become mortals...

  Although the spiritual sense evolved as you progressed.

  So a core formation cultivators spiritual sense was more powerful.

  It could see through this method under specific scenarios. For example, let's say you had a Qi Condensation cultivator at the 3rd level. Even if they kept their meridians empty. The core formation could tell they were a cultivator by noticing which meridians they had blocked.

  This wasn't to say meridians blocked showed up uniquely. There was a contrast of colors that made it obvious if it wasn't all or nothing.

  If they were a true mortal. They would have no meridians unblocked.

  But if the person had all of their main meridians unblocked while at the same time keeping their meridians empty... it would be hard to tell the difference between them and a mortal!

  But this is different for those in foundation establishment. Who cares about the weak Qi in their meridians? They have the Qi from their dao pillar! They can instantly refill the meridians with far more explosive and better Qi.

  John kept his meridians empty.

  He now looked like a complete mortal to anyone's spiritual sense.

  They could see he had dantians and meridians. But if they were blocked or unblocked? Since he had all of them unblocked. There was no contrast between them. So unless heavily scrutinized. He would appear as a mortal in anyone's eyes.

  He made his way back to the sect.
